Kudos for what you are doing, but I would echo the sentiments of other commentators:- 1. Get a bigger, stronger (metal) rake, the small plastic one you are using won't last 2. Rake any debris up onto higher land so it's not dragged back into the drain 3. Wide angle shots of the area showing before, during and after, we like to see how much difference you are actually making Have a look at Post 10, he's been doing it for a while and knows what he is doing. Please accept this as constructive criticism, what you are doing is grate (pardon the pun) but could be so much better and more enjoyable for your viewers. Keep up the good work!!

I concur 😃 I realize all drain systems aren't the same but if there is one on one side of the street please walk straight across the street and see if there is another. ( post 10 follower)

You need to flip the debris up onto the curb, otherwise its right back in the road. You also need a lesson in civil engineering- how to locate drains. Where you see one, theres usually another right across the street. Get the leaves OFF the grate! Anywhere you see an indentation in the curb, thats probably where the drain grate is. You also need a bigger sturdier garden rake.

@Penguirrel3 жыл бұрын
I would suggest investing in a garden rake instead of that small leaf rake. Garden rakes have a wide flat row of hard tines to make clearing debris easier. It also can be used to grind the debris through the grate if need be. Your current rake looks like it is struggling with the slightest of blockage.
@Bobrogers992 жыл бұрын
Actually, that smaller rake is very useful for clearing drains. I've used one with great success.

I love what you are doing. A wider shot would be good - so we can see what difference/benefit you've made. Also, when the water's gone, it would be great to see you clear the drain again so that the flood doesn't come back. Last thing: wear gloves. Do not touch the drain. You only need to be pricked by an infected needle to end up with a lifelong infection! Safety first!
