Detroit Lions fans react to the Jared Goff & Matthew Stafford trade

As an LA Rams fan since 67, I want to thank the Lions organization for taking his insane contract and a couple draft choices to help us win Superbowl 56. We REALLY couldn't have done it without you. Good luck with Goff. Really, from all Rams fans, Thank You!💯

As a Lions' fan, all I can say is, "You're welcome." We are used to seeing players retire, walk away, get signed as free agents, and get traded (in bad trades for the Lions) because of the total incompetence that the ownership and front offices have had since about 1963, when Bill Ford bought the team.

What does Matthew Stafford possess that Megatron and Barry don't? A Superbowel ring. Lion's fans have been talking Stafford up for years. You can have Aaron Rodgers, I will take Stafford any day.

When I heard the news that Goff had been traded for Stafford I was ecstatic! Since Super Bowl LIII I felt Goff was unable to make the plays needed for the Rams to take the next step. The offense had become predictable and easy to scheme against. Stafford made all the difference. It is my belief the Rams would have multiple rings if they made the realization three years earlier that Goff was not the guy.

@@envy_rob8989 He threw 8, not even 1 per game in a losing season. You'd think it would have been more. Does that mean we won the trade, of course not. However, he wasn't the only reason we were bad. This trade exposed the Lions Org on a National level like never before.

I always felt sorry for Stafford having to play on a team that never will be good while the Ford family owned the team. Now I feel sorry for Goff. I hope they trade him too

Matt deserved to be in a winning team. The Lions have never been a good team. The owners do not put the effort to make it a winning team because fans keep on going to watch them play even if they lose.

Good trade for both teams. Stafford putting up career numbers and matching Kurt Warner this season. So far it seems like IT WAS The Lions, and not Stafford. He may have elevated them (and they brought him down a little). If he has a breakout year then I think it will be a testament to how bad The Lions are as an organization. If Goff and The Lions continue to lose, then I'm not sure if it will be damning to Goff or The Lions. At least to The Lions. Still, Goff is searching for his first win without McVay.
