I wish Stafford had gotten some of this recognition back when he was playing like this for Detroit, last night was nothing new for #9 (including needing to do it all without a running game, btw). The man's a stud, and a good guy, so for his sake I'm glad he's finally getting his due. But as a Lions fan, I'm also happy the Honolulu Blue prevailed in the end. One Pride! 💙

Stafford was a league "yes man" He never said anything in front of the media, everytime the officials screwed the Lions in big Games. You could do a documentary on the number of ridiculous calls against the Lions , during Stafford's eleven year career in Detroit.

I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a Lions fan who doesn't still love Stafford. That said, it's a simple fact that he (Stafford) left for a team that - led by Goff - had already gone to the Super Bowl. YES - he won once he got the chance, but Goff - somehow - managed to do for the Rams what Stafford was unable to do for the Lions, in 1/3 of the time. I don't blame Stafford for his futility in Detroit - I blame the front office, and a myriad of goofy HC choices - on the cheap. Still, Stafford had the best Wide Receiver in the game... for YEARS... in Calvin, yet, couldn't win even a single playoff game. Yes - there is no doubt at ALL that the Lions were the victims - for years - of horrific officiating calls. But, I kept waiting for a moment - just one - where someone (Stafford) blew a gasket PUBLICLY and said "We are playing against 15 guys every game... 11 players and 4 officials, who all seem to want us to lose." For sure, anyone who said that would have been fined, but - it would have sent a message to fans. Dan Campbell is the guy who is - no doubt - going to say that when/if it happens. Caldwell was a good head coach, but when he got MUGGED by officials in the Cowboys game, he said nothing - not even the next day. The fans make the team meaningful, and when the fans see their team getting robbed, week-after-week, and the head coach just stands there looking at his play sheet on the sidelines, it tells the fans "you're on your own".

We aren't asking Stafford to do it all this year.... we came into the game with our starting two tackles out and had more offensive lineman go out in game. The tackles will both return sooner rather than later. Additionally, McVay has always used quick passes as an extension of the rush package, so there will be 7-12 pass attempts a game that are essentially rush plays. So please, don't lump in old lions coaching with Rams leadership...😅

I laugh every time these people give props to Stafford for things he was doing his whole 12 years here in Detroit. That is why this guy is a HOF'er. 3, def 4, years ago, I would have turned the game off when the Rams went up 20-17. The SOL's would, 100%, have lost that game. Sunday night, I never had a time where I thought the Lions were going to lose. Non-Detroit people have no idea how fonking weird of a feeling that is to us Lions die-hards. Our default is always "the Lions will find a way to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory". It is, indeed, a new time here in Detroit.

Still have to point out how people only now recognize Stafford as one of the best, verbally, publicly standing behind statements about his greatness. They never did this when he was in Detroit. These talking heads really get fixated on who they like and who they don't . Since the rams have had McVay they have dubbed him the boy genius - and because he went and got Stafford - and they won immediately - obviously they are the best . Stafford is essentially the same player. I think he looks a little more composed now than he did with the lions - but he has had success so he should . some of those years - it was a full out jail break and teams were coming with everything they had at Stafford . He always had the talent /arm he just was forced to do too much because he had limited team around him . Had Stafford had a GM like Brad Holmes when he was in his prime to surround him with players - would have been a different story . I'm happy with a QB that is 8 yrs younger -and all the picks - it was a win /win plus we got rid of his old lady - and that non stop pie hole.

If neither team played starters during preseason that being the case I thought both teams took awhile to get into executing offense and defenses seemed to have their way early. We shut down St. Brown and we gave the game away just not kicking FGs on two drives. Dont take that into account or that we played without 3 starting Olines and our starting corner all or the majority of that game. But its just the Lions who can be better. GOH

Honestly... as a Lions fan, I was not happy to see the Rams as our first game. Stafford is a tough dude and he will always have his team in it til the end. I knew this game would be a problem just with the Rams wanting revenge and our starters not playing in the preseason... I'm extremely happy we pulled this one out.

The ability a player can have is AVAILABILITY, and Kupp hasn’t played a full season in like 3yrs and is on the wrong side of 30 so to say Nacua is the better receiver right now isn’t a stretch

@@avaudiguru dude Kupp hasn’t had a great season since 2021, Nacua was an all pro just LAST YEAR, I don’t get what you’re not comprehending here, Stafford was already using Kupp as a second option before Nacua got hurt, and he had a 100yds receiving but only averaged 7yds a catch, that sounds like a possession receiver/ number 2 receiver to me, barring any injuries I guarantee Puka is going to be the Rams #1 receiver.. stop living in the past this isn’t 2021, dude is 31yrs old and coming off multiple major injuries.. peace ✌🏾
