The greater Detroit area has over 5 million people. It's no NY, LA or Chicago and never was in that league. When people come to Detroit, the city, it's not vibrant because people and jobs moved to the suburbs long ago. There is no mass transit system either. Detroit lost 1.2 million residents to the suburbs, from the 50's til present. Detroit has some of the nicest and safest suburbs in the country. I don't know why people run to Atlanta or Houston, other than for warmer weather. These cities really have nothing on Detroit, they are just viral cities that people are moving to because others are moving there. Michigan is the place to be in the near future, if not now. The city of Detroit is slowly coming back starting downtown. Shawn should come back in the summer and see all the construction going on in this written of as dead city. Even with all the people Detroit lost it still has a lot more people than the city of Atlanta and both are the same size in terms of square miles. Detroit has its own culture. People outside of Detroit are attracted to Detroit culture and swag and hustle. Detroit vs Everybody.

@@blackwolf6399 I absolutely hate when people say that. Downtown is popping. Every restaurant in Greektown is good. Southern Fire on Bellevue by Belle Isle is great. Mexican restaurants in Southwest. Coneys all over the place. Detroit One on Woodward. You have Lions, Pistons, Tigers and Redwings all downtown. Concerts at the Fox, Chene Park, Hart Plaza. Campus Martius is fun. Different festivals. You have museums like Charles H Wright and the DIA. Motown museum, basketball courts everywhere. Malls are in the burbs but 12 Oaks, Somerset and Fairlane are great. Movie theaters, bbq joints everywhere, you could find a good block party somewhere, clubs. Belle Isle, the Zoo, riding down east Jefferson, the universoul circus, They Say restaurant right next to the Martin building, the River Walk, skating rinks, River Rouge Park. There's plenty! People are lazy and don't know how to have fun. Detroit is beautiful and wonderful. Don't disrespect it. Other places of people are proud of where they're from. It should be no different here.
