The recordings for previous days are shot from the exact same angle as the one which was setup which suggests the CCTV was never moved even after a thief was suspected.

Of c it's scripted. The producers create content that will entertain the viewers and direct the plot of a scenario. And each tv show has a theme attached to it which it incorporates into all of its content. Without a recognisable theme attached to a program, viewers won't be able to recognize it and judge it based on personal preference.
