Cade is fucking phenomenal. He looks so much more at ease getting his desired shots tan ever before. Still need Duren to function more as a pick and roll partner in order to really nlock the offense for Cade, but I love his knack for knowing when to hold the ball and and play iso, when to swing the ball early to get Hardaway/Harris/Beasley, and when to let Ivey run downhill. Just want cade to stop with the fucking jump-pass turnovers lol.

An attribute that the great PG’s in the NBA have always known is that they needed to get their teammates going early in the game by running plays for them and creating for them while sprinkling in getting their own buckets. Then, in the second half they come on stronger being more aggressive with teammates who already have it going for a strong finish. What I saw in the first half was Cade dominating from the jump but I immediately acknowledged that he was also icing out his help/shooters at the same time because the ball was not even being passed around before he would attack opting for more iso play to start the game. That style is exhausting and unsustainable for the best of conditioned athletes. Cade and Ivey have to find a way to LEAD this team to wins which will mean finding this balance, I think they will as the season progresses.

This team has a small margin for error. Yes the vets need to be what they were bought in for, and some nights maybe more. JB didn’t make good adjustments if any on LaMelo. Pistons have to be better in tight game situations.
@therockneverstops82612 ай бұрын
In all fairness the Pistons have too many below average defenders to pick on to scheme for a better defender on him and doubling may have been an option or even bringing Ron Holland in for defensive possessions more because their lineup is too short to truly pressure LaMelo.
@michaelpowell91522 ай бұрын
@ I agree we don’t have any elite defenders, just many average to below average. I thought doubling Lamelo at times, giving him a different look and forcing him to give up the ball would help. Hornets don’t have any other good playmaker(s). Team defense to make up for missing that lockdown defender will be key this season

What adjustment was he going to make??
@michaelpowell91522 ай бұрын
@@therockneverstops8261 maybe could of put some more size on him (Fontecchio)? Maybe give Holland more minutes defending him, who can be a little more physical? Ball is a tough matchup, he is what 6'7"?
@therockneverstops82612 ай бұрын
Part of it is chemistry. Veterans thrive with other veterans because they are consistent. Cade and Ivey are not consistent yet, guys don’t know if Cade is starting off super aggressive or deferring from game to game. Despite his hot start guys were standing around offensively uninvolved. Scoring in isolation without ball movement can stall out players who are at their best when in a rhythm. Sometimes Tobias goes for long stretches without touching the ball because the offense will have no passes before a shot or only one at all for the bulk of his minutes.

@therockneverstops82612 ай бұрын
Cade’s effort on defense is his worst attribute right now, it’s almost getting Jordan Poole bad where he spends more energy faking effort than actual effort. I do appreciate that JB is putting Cade in the post more but Cade needs to work on getting to shots he can depend upon against ANYBODY rather than each foray to the basket feeling so random and unpredictable.

I critique cade when it comes to turnovers. But if guys hit shots, we win these games. What more can Cade do? It’s not his fault. Especially the last two games bro. Besides Cade and Ivey guys are struggling to make shots bro. Wide open shots. So it’s Cade’s fault that Beasley didn’t box out? Ijs smh

He needs to score more than 4 points in the second half after having 16 in the first half, if he does we likely win the game

Detroit would want me fired as a GM when I tell ownership I want Cade on the trading block. Cade is who he is. Build around Ivy at the PG with the return. Kind of like the Goff trade. People thought I was crazy back when I was talking about Brown from Boston is dope and being limited. Ivy is being held back as well. And yes, I would trade Jayson and keep Brown if I got a good offer.

The “him” narrative when it comes to Cade needs to end, the Hornets game proved there’s a clear difference between Melo and Cade when the game is on the line. Melo is an example of a “him”, Cade has never been that. He’s a GOOD NBA STARTER, nothing more, nothing less. Not a bad thing, but that’s NOT a WINNING FRANCHISE player. Everybody expecting the NON franchise players to step up in big moments and completely looking past Cade… THE FRANCHISE PLAYER. “wElL even lEbRon nEeDed hELp”…. Well…. Lebron did take the cavs to the finals and single handedly beat the pistons when they were still good. There..is…a…difference

Bro how do you score 16 points in the first 13-14 minutes of the game and then only get 4 the rest of the game. I mean come on, Cade has to be better than that.
@dbuck28622 ай бұрын
Tobias and Beasley need to be better they are the vets but play some games like they are in the G League. I do get the point people are saying about CADE. If he is our Franchise Star (Grant Hill, Carmelo, LBJ, MJ, Magic, Allen Iverson type star we expects) some games we should see CADE getting more ppg in 30-45ppg. Some games he has to be the elite player/scoring type. The triple doubles are great but some games he has to score more with this roster to show he is an Elite NBA All Star type player
