I'm usually guilty of saying, .... "well there's xx:xx minutes of my life that I'll never get back" after watching some youtube videos. Not with this one, it's got to be the best 27-1/2 minutes I've ever spent. Been researching many videos on exactly how to drift/troll river currents. Back years ago I had a larger 10 ft. beam boat that I used to just troll with the current to keep vertical. Recently purchased a new (smaller) 19' boat with 3 types of motors. Even though it's still going to be a learning curve for me, at least now I can say I know the critique skills to drifting with the Minn Kota. Hopefully I can get it through my thick head and adapt quickly. 😄 Thanks,

Informative video! Lot of good tips. Just a thought. I always start my jigging by pointing the nose of the boat into the wind. Also look at all the other boats and 99 percent will be pointing the same way. That’s the way to point your boat.

Thanks man. This spring will be my second time on the river in Windsor. We had to figure all this out last year as we were there only for the day. That particular day was decent in the morning but really tailed off from then on. Watching the boats around us and very few were caught. Looking forward to this year hoping we slay em. I watch for updates from guys on youtube to see when the time seems right.

This is best instructional video on jigging I have seen. I rarely like or subscribe, but did both. It is informational, straight to the point, no promoting product, and not about how great you are or pushing your brand. There is one thing I wish you included, and would love it being tagged to the end of the video. I wish you pointed out how you keep the line tight with consistent pressure, never varying the pressure or pumping the rod to reel in a fish. I try to tell people that the slightest release will result in a lost fish and they proceed to demonstrate exactly that.

Great video's and content. I'm headed to Port Clinton April 13 to April 20th. I'm looking for Plan B for blow days. Saturday morning isn't looking good. I assume the boat ramps are packed on the weekends. Does it get to the point you can't find a parking spot in Wyondotte and Belanger? Is it easier to find a parking spot around noon or 1pm. I assume a lot of people head home around noon. Is there an Bait shops open at 6am in the area for minnows? How many jigs will a guy loss in 6 hour trip?Sorry, for all the question but we are freaking out a little...thanks.
@TheOutdoorConquest
@TheOutdoorConquest 2 ай бұрын
Wyandotte is a madhouse. I’ve had better luck finding parking at Ballenger. I’d wait until 1pm or so if you go later in the day because by then it starts to open back up some. Depending on where you fish you shouldn’t lose any but if your in the Trenton channel it is snaggy. Half dozen jigs would be more than enough. You’ll feel the concrete down there. Good luck and tight lines buddy!

@@TheOutdoorConquest Yeah a cpl hours into the night from shore. I'm gonna blame it on muddy water. 🤣 I live really close so I'm there quite often.

@@TheOutdoorConquest nice I will definitely let you know as soon as I catch a few. For my net I just use my normal rubber net stuck into a drapery rod with a hole and a cotter pin holding it in place.

5'8 to 6'3" rods MH extra fast rods are perfect. 6'6" M & 6'8" M are too long and too light of an action in my opinion.

I would agree the shorter ones can be better but for a beginner they can walk into any bass pro or store and find a 6’6”-6’8” MHF pretty easily and affordable. The more jigging specific rods can be tougher to find sometimes and more expensive it seems. Thanks for watching!
