I'm a Detroiter and I visited this place last summer. It's crazy big and super creapy to be in alone. Multiple basements and sub-basements and endlessly long hallways. I climbed all the way on top the water tank in the tower at the front! Super awesome video! Btw, to the public, stay out of abandoned buildings in the winter. Bums are sketchy and cops/security can easily follow footprints in snow...but that's half the fun right

That area that’s sectioned off with plastic isn’t from someone living there. Myself and a bunch of friends fly drones in there and we set that up and brought in a heater to stay warm while we fly.

Your videoing skills just keep getting better, and better! I love (hate) hearing the politicians on t.v. bragging that they, have brought Detroit back to the city it once was. One short drive around, shows what state of disrepair Detroit still is in.

Great documentary! You really went the extra mile with your editing. As a supplier to Chrysler, I worked there for just a few weeks back in about 2000. As they still did some engineering and testing there. Can't believe what the place looks like now. I remember thinking when I walked down the stairs with the intricate wrought iron rails how you don't see that type of workmanship anymore. Surprised that they are still there as I figured a scavenger would have taken them long ago as scrap. It was still relatively ornate at that time too. Thanks again for your work and sharing your exploration!

It was such a shame when AMC sold to Chrysler. The Jeeps AMC made are still the best off roaders in the business and the Eagle is still the best 4x4 CAR I have ever driven. All Chrysler did was go bankrupt and ruin the Jeep brand. AMC was small and working on a budget but they were always innovative. If they stuck with it who knows what kinds of cars we would have today

They were about to go bankrupt. Antiquated designs and no money for R&D. Tried partnering w/ Renault as a lifeline a few years earlier, but that was a fail. All Chrysler wanted from AMC was the Jeep line. Yes, Jeeps now aren't what they once were, but damn, look at all those sales! Jeep and Ram are what's keeping Chrysler solvent now.

Hola de Bogota Colombia. Many of these Jeeps that were designed in Detroit and built in Toledo Ohio are still running strong here in Colombia. Colombia is literally a working museum for Jeeps. They call them Willys here. To see 70 year old Jeeps still doing what they were designed for is amazing. Sad to see the JTE building become the new Packard plant...

Hi im from Australia, its sad to see how all of detroit is abandoned due to all the factorys closing down over the years wich meant that people couldnt pay there housing payments. So everyone moved out. In the 70s I remember everyone here were buying Kalvinator refrigerators. Thanks for this video ♥

Brisbane was going the way of the D, but its turning around. Our building is nearly 3/4 occupied now but we still have a few abandoned houses. They keep building more units for China. They are mostly empty. A new 53 story has 3 families living in it.

Hi Heather, the reason Detroit looks the way it does because it's been run by Democrats/Communists since 1962. The US autoworkers or UAW average wage is 120,000 a year, which take it from a former assembly line worker is a ridiculous wage. The automakers simply cannot stay in business with that high level of expense. Instead they hire 5 workers in Mexico for what they pay one American, don't blame them for it, it's just simple economics...

Hello, Don't let these videos make you think all of Detroit is like this-these guys are late to the explore game in Detroit. Over the past 5 years there has been growth. People don't show the beauty that has been coming about. These guys were lucky to get into this building because it was taken over by a gentleman who plans to refurbish it. There are a few others like him. Detroit does have its bad side but all large cities do. Yes, the big three collapsed at one point and the leaders let a lot go to waste but times have changed and things are getting better.

AFTER WII, WE HAD THE ONLY MEANS OF PRODUCTION IN THE WORLD, THE WHOLE WORLD WAS FORCED TO BUY FROM US. CORPORATE AMERICA GOT GREEDY AS HELL WITHOUT REALIZING THE TREND WOULDN'T LAST. WHEN THE WORLD REBUILT AND STOPPED BUYING US JUNK THEY WEREN'T READY B/C THEY SPENT THE PROFITS INSTEAD OF RE-INVESTING.

FANTASTIC VIDEO!! So very sad to see that magnificent building in ruins, even in its present state, the architecture is beautiful and is much, much better than today’s buildings. To building that type of building today would cost a true fortune indeed, with all of our resources have being shipped to foreign countries!! It would be nice to try to preserve these buildings, even if they some asbestos had to be removed!!

Nothing beats a straight 6 in my humble opinion. RIP Rambler. Sad to see the mess the building has been left in. Hope the City can do something worthwhile with it. Perhaps some type of housing for low income or people transitioning out of homelessness. That would be nice to see.

Detroit was once a great American city. With the flight of the industrial capital, and no plan to replace it, the city became a shell of itself. Just like this plant. It needs to downsize - return much of it to the open space that it once was to reduce the cost to operate the city. And restore the center of town to attract new industry and commerce.
