@@InfectedChris I agree, I'm all for music but it has to fit the area. like in a rich neighborhood with million dollar mansions you want some less aggressive music with maybe feel good music BUT for the ghettos & projects you want hiphop music or something very aggressive.This music here didn't fit what your looking at, sounds like something you would here on a show featured on the lifetime channel

I did home improvement sales in Detroit for years, in every neighborhood. Some days were action- packed and I always kept my head on a swivel, but one day I was at an elderly woman's home off of Dexter and Linwood in her living room and she had family pictures on her mantle, she had a picture of a young boy I asked who it was, she said, "oh that was my foster son, he got killed walking to the store." I was done with the city, it pissed me off. That shit ain't cool. I just hope Detroit gets it right one day.

From some one who is white, and grew up on Detroit's west side, and still works there, there is still a lot of work to do. I still don't understand why they can't tear down those houses. They are dangerous, just from a safety, point of view. There are some nice neighborhoods. And right next to them some really shitty ones. It makes no sense. Until the local government does something. Detroit's reputation will suffer. No excuses.

This is what happens ot a city goes from 1.67 million people in 1960 to 672,000 people in 2018. The city has about 2.6 times more of everything than it needs - roads, houses, commercial buildings, and entire neighborhoods. There's no lack of poverty, ignorance, arson, and killing one another though.
@KamalaIsTrash
@KamalaIsTrash 5 жыл бұрын
It's no worse than when a city has 3 times LESS than it needs, like in NYC where bodies are stacked on top of each other and fighting over a tiny space and having to walk in the street because the sidewalks are packed with bodies. That environment creates a lot of hostility and violence.
@sarjim4381
@sarjim4381 5 жыл бұрын
@@KamalaIsTrash It makes NYC more expensive, but it's much better overall. NYC has nearly full employment. the numbers of people reflect the relative prosperity, and the city is not in danger of bankruptcy. On a per capita basis, NYC doesn't even come close to the levels of violence and hostility seen in Detroit. If you really don't like NYC, you can always leave. I suspect you have a reasonably good paying job so you're reluctant to leave, just like all the other people you see occupying those sidewalks. Some money just costs too much.

Actually the free agents that come here end up liking it here. Downtown is boomin now casinos and the best restaurant scene in the country right now. Back in the day John Salley had a mansion in palmer woods a neighborhood of all mansions inside the city

From some one who grew up on the west side, this is unexplainable But don't judge this as to how the entire city appears. A very small part of it. A lot of people are happy to live here.

"Free" trade deals like NAFTA are a big reason. Trump renegotiated it but the democrats are stalling to ratify it while simultaneously promising to renegotiate our trade deals during the primary campaign season. They are hoping we don't notice.

My question is, how long do you think it takes to spray paint all that graffiti? Where are the police officers patrolling?. Where are the laws to prevent this? They garbage up more places by defacing property like this. Why are all these houses abandoned? Sort of reminds you of "all the king's horses and all the king's men can't put humpty dumpty back together again. All the people with power and authority cannot perform their work properly to prevent this. There are 60,000 homeless veterans and these homes are abandoned left to deteriorate. It is a sin.

+ky malone The uniparty is what I believe you are referring to. Be aware of the new paradigm that is emerging: Globalism (neoliberals, free trade deals, unfettered immigration, weakened citizenship) vs. Populism (Strengthened American citizenship, strong borders, sovereignty, fair trade deals). There are a handful of those that lean populist in both the republican and democrat parties. Imo, life under populism is more advantageous for American minorities like myself. For example, globalism is the most dangerous force to Black Americans because it justifies wealth redistribution of their wealth to non citizens and 3rd world countries as it immediately vaults the group into the 1% global median income bracket.
