I did home improvement sales in Detroit for years, in every neighborhood. Some days were action- packed and I always kept my head on a swivel, but one day I was at an elderly woman's home off of Dexter and Linwood in her living room and she had family pictures on her mantle, she had a picture of a young boy I asked who it was, she said, "oh that was my foster son, he got killed walking to the store." From some one who is white, and grew up on Detroit's west side, and still works there, there is still a lot of work to do. I still don't understand why they can't tear down those houses. They are dangerous, just from a safety, point of view. There are some nice neighborhoods. And right next to them some really shitty ones. It makes no sense. Until the local government does something. This is what happens ot a city goes from 1.67 million people in 1960 to 672,000 people in 2018. The city has about 2.6 times more of everything than it needs - roads, houses, commercial buildings, and entire neighborhoods. There's no lack of poverty, ignorance, arson, and killing one another though.
@KamalaIsTrash5 жыл бұрын
It's no worse than when a city has 3 times LESS than it needs, like in NYC where bodies are stacked on top of each other and fighting over a tiny space and having to walk in the street because the sidewalks are packed with bodies. That environment creates a lot of hostility and violence.
@sarjim43815 жыл бұрын
@@KamalaIsTrash It makes NYC more expensive, but it's much better overall. NYC has nearly full employment. the numbers of people reflect the relative prosperity, and the city is not in danger of bankruptcy. On a per capita basis, NYC doesn't even come close to the levels of violence and hostility seen in Detroit. If you really don't like NYC, you can always leave. I suspect you have a reasonably good paying job so you're reluctant to leave, just like all the other people you see occupying those sidewalks. Some money just costs too much.

Sort of reminds you of "all the king's horses and all the king's men can't put humpty dumpty back together again. All the people with power and authority cannot perform their work properly to prevent this. There are 60,000 homeless veterans and these homes are abandoned left to deteriorate. It is a sin.

+ky malone The uniparty is what I believe you are referring to. Be aware of the new paradigm that is emerging: Globalism (neoliberals, free trade deals, unfettered immigration, weakened citizenship) vs. Populism (Strengthened American citizenship, strong borders, sovereignty, fair trade deals). There are a handful of those that lean populist in both the republican and democrat parties. Imo, life under populism is more advantageous for American minorities like myself. For example, globalism is the most dangerous force to Black Americans because it justifies wealth redistribution of their wealth to non citizens and 3rd world countries as it immediately vaults the group into the 1% global median income bracket.

I've been all across this CORPORATION same in Detroit happening every where tho it is not right but you learn to adapt to these red zones a lot of people here in Detroit do not love they selves how is they going love another, growing up around hatred in all Nationalities came in smiles as well with hand shakes daily fighting through all on your way to work home visiting or shopping is much beyond a dam shame

I'll never understand how all these poor people can afford so much paint. I just painted my living room, and dining room, and that stuff isn't cheap!

It's hard to believe, that areas exist in this country today. People in those areas are a forgotten bunch , who play by their own rules. What' next ?. Sad to see such poverty and the quality of life in that area.😱

He was ready to get angry, march and/or riot if it was a police shooting. But black on black crime only elicits a shrug. Someone just got shot 12 times!! It's frightening to see how well democrats have programmed black Americans.

There should be laws in cities to prevent this. Again authorities fault. Who owns the houses and the land? Make strict vandalism, riot laws.
