Nothing as beautiful as the bellow of a Detroit diesel. Cats are nice but these bad boys can’t be topped. Growing up Cat was all I knew until my dad got a truck with a Detroit. The bottom end power on that truck was second to none. In the hills of PA he ran the left lane a lot passing all the Paccars, Cummins, etc going uphill

The 6nz will always be my number 1 but that's true, nothing beats that low bottom end power of a 60 series its kind of unreal lol but the unfortunately die off around 1600 and climbing hills, idk what it is about the 6nz but definitely great for high end hill climbs

I appreciate it, a good 12.7 can be tuned to whatever performance you’d like. Mine is a stock 500/1650 but with just a tune can be pumped up to 550/2050. Fuel economy can be 7+ mpg if you drive it conservatively.

I wish gliders were still a thing. You can't have anything in the land of the free. This just goes to show you that if a diesel is tuned right, the black clouds of smoke just aren't there. Sure, I'm not ignoring the Nox etc, but the environmentalists don't think that if one of these new emissions compliant trucks breaks down in the middle of North Dakota or Nebraska, it just isn't cost effective for a farmer to buy, let alone keep an emissions truck when they are suffering downtime.

Not the DD series tho, they're not so great...a 60 series 12.7 or 14, now we're talkin!☺️ The 07 I drive at work has an old 12.7 and it's the only one in the fleet that's got just pipes and some mufflers. All the others have friggin dpf and they're pretty quiet, nice to be able to Jake in town tho lol. Can't do that with mine or people might bitch a lil😆
