That was the school i went to in the late 80's wow it has really changed. I'm glad to see it again...

@J Ramirez:I hear ya',and if nothing ELSE,it will always have the distinction of having PRO-caliber hoop-teams throughout the 80s,with future college and pro standouts like Anderson Hunt,Howard Eisley,Antoine Joubert,Jalen Rose,and Voshon Lenard on the SAME team!! Was forced to go to Chadsey,so I never actually attended Southwestern,but I lived near Fort between Schaefer and Visiger during this time,and everybody in the area had GREAT pride in the Prospectors dominion on the ball court!!

I was there grades 10 and 11. I was in the minority but there where few problems as I recall. Sad to see it as it is now. 1963 and 1964. Remember a couple girls I knew. Maryellen Wilcox, Lorraine (cookie) Fisher.

All I can say is, I beat y'all in my day. I went to Chadsey, beat y'all in 1968 in Basketball. But my oldest son Kay9/Kamau and my Newphew J Rose came out of Southwestern in 1991,. Very very sad to see Chadsey and Southwestern close like they did. I took drivers training at Southwestern in the summer of 1966,.

Southwestern High School : Closed in the early 70s due a lot of Crime going on in and around the school at that time it was Located On W Fort St. In SW DETROIT, known as the Del Rey area . I attended Western High School On Scotten Ave in SW Detroit at the time . But I never seen that school open even when I moved from Detroit in 2005 ? It was in bad shape at that time ? I was for sure they were going to have demolish the School ? I never knew they , Reopened the School till Now ? It would be a shame after all that work that was put into the School they would even seriously think! about closing it again That would be a waste .
