Hm, debatable. The Deck has a "quad channel 32bit interface". Thing is, a single DDR5 channel is actually 64bit wide, split up into 2x32bit access. Which matches up with the memory bandwidth specs of the Deck, those two are exactly in line with regular dual channel DDR5.

We could also just abolish IP and rely on basic Fraud Laws to get every bad things people want out of IP. IP is just a legal Monopoly Right to lock tech behind patents and they discourage production and innovation. x86 is the most clear example of this. Fuck patents. Ideas can be exploited by an infinite amount of people without problem. The logical conclusion of IP is that competition should not exists and every idea should be strickly produced by a single organisation. And the only reason the "big player" are so.omnipresent is because of those legal monopoly grant that protected them for decades.

2:39 the vapor chamber was changed from copper to stainless steel ? Wasn't it changed from copper to a mix of Copper AND stainless steel now? As is literally shown on screen. Not sure how using stainless steel is better when it is barely 15W/mK compared to about 400W/mK for copper (bigger number = better thermal conductivity). While it is certainly more rigid and would helps prevent heat from other parts to heat up the heatpipes too much when we want to pull heat away from the CPU/GPU... My guess is they wanted to save a buck on the copper, not so much that it's "better" than the previous solution they had. Just that it's more efficient.
@rinrin471114 күн бұрын
You only really need copper at the point of contact with die and radiator, since 99% of the heat is transferred with vapor, not through metal.
