I am a white man. U.S. Army Veteran. I listen to this song often. Brings hard emotions for me as I have alot of black brothers and sisters I served with, ith nothing but my highest respect. Seeing the divide hurts deep. I want this all to be over but I also know change isn't easy. Whatever happens, whatever the action or outcome I will be standing by you all. Everyone deserves the same freedom I have. Keep doing what you guys are doing. Thank you for standing up so my children can see from your examples.

I got chills just listening to these talented youth singing Glory. We all must work together to ensure that every American has equal and sustainable rights. We must end any pre-conceived notions about each other without knowing who people really are. The passion in this rendition of Glory is astonishing. Kudos to the Detroit Youth Choir. Keep singing!

I am always hearing the sound of music: Motown, gospel, country, blues, and jazz. Even during the "Conversation on Race" I was hearing music. Our lives have soundtracks. During the protest of the '60s and '70s, we sang, "We Shall Overcome" and "Say it Loud, I'm Black and I'm Proud." There are two songs that stand out for me as the music of the current movement. The freedom songs (for me) of 2020 are: "Stand Up" from the 2019 movie "Harriet" and "Glory from the 2014 movie "Selma". The video above of the AGT Golden Buzzer winning Detroit Youth Choir singing for racial justice in a new version of Oscar-winning song 'Glory' is my FAVORITE.

I love this song. I watch every version of it I can find. Hadn't seen this one before. Love it. I'm not black, so I can't speak to that experience, but I am a survivor of abuse, and for me, this song really speaks to abuse survivors, as well. I would so love if someone did a version written for abuse survivors. I think it would surprise people how many similarities there are in how we are treated by our justice system, for example. Anyway love the message in this song, love the amazing voices, love this performance, love the talent of the original writers and performers, love the courage of the original civil rights leaders, who have always been heroes of mine even though I was either not born yet or too young to be aware of what was happening when they were alive. This is just an inspiring and brilliant song, and I hope people keep singing it forever. Until the glory comes.

I am SO happy to have stumbled upon this video while surfing around on KZbin! Common and John Legend must be SO proud of what you all put into making this fantastic video performance! That's the whole thing though - we have to quit looking at color. We're born whatever color we're born. We don't get to pick and choose that anymore than we get to pick what country we end up being from. I guess these things are just preordained - we have no control over them, so why the heck do we focus so much on them? Let's focus on what we CAN control and just get over the stupid crap already! One Planet, One People! It doesn't matter what color - we're all PEOPLE!! I really commend the entire choir for this performance, and thank you so much for sharing it with us all! Peace!!!
