Next year I will very likely make the jump to Android from the iOS ecosystem. There is no more premium feeling in the iPhone. Everything is buggy on the iPhone 6 and the battery life is ridiculous. I'm keeping an eye on your channel so that I can find my next phone when it's time to upgrade.

This is quite possibly the best review of the Sony Xperia Z2. I picked mine up two days ago in Purple. In Japan, NTT Docomo offers the phone for about $400 on contract. At first glance, I found the phone rather large. However, the build quality, amazing screen, Sony ecosystem, the water and dust proofing, the great camera, dedicated shutter button, and stereo speakers truly make this phone a multimedia beast. When filming in 4k my phone does get hot to the touch, and unfortunately in Japan, cameras must make a shutter sound, but we do get a built in tv tuner and digital wallet so thats a trade off I guess. Great phone. I dont miss my Samsung Galaxy or regret my purchase at all.

Not while browsing, or watching videos, but the phone does get hot when shooting 4k video. However, since I rarely shoot video, let alone 4k video, I tend to feel like I have no heat issues at all. It has been a year now, and my only gripe is that I don't have Lollipop yet. That and the fact that my phone only remained a flagship for about three months; which I am sure means fewer updates. It's a great phone, I can live with outdated software, it just sucks to know that Sony is not as committed to pushing updates to the Japanese market, as they are to the markets elsewhere.

SONY Xperia Z2 is an AMAZING Mobile!!! It have all the features that I need, it has a good size which is 5.2 inches, comes with Android 4.4.2 KitKat, an AMAZING Processor! And an excellent camera which is 20 Mega Pixel and it's WATER PROOF!!!

I got Z2 last October 2014 and still works excellent up to now. Worth buying and doesn't bother upgrading to Z5, only finger print was the added feature. Z2's camera, processor, built quality were still irreplaceable.

They both look amazing to be honest, but it probably boils down to what you want from a phone. The M8 looks like it has more socialization elements to it.

sony is better, its waterproof. has noise cancellation(which works). and it has dual front facing speakers which are hidden behind glass structure but amazingly sound as good as HTC one stereo speakers if not better. how they did it god knows. its sony engineering behind all this.

i just bought. lumia 1520 2 days ago. for real. in glossy red. i am serious. why? because camera on lumia1520 is a lot better than z2. i compared samples on gsmarena. OS ecosystems don't bother me that much. i am not an APP whore. i use this phone for media. watching videos n reading cool stuff. bigger screen got me thinking and battery life is way better on windows phones than android. speaking of battery life. wireless charging is an important feature for me! it helps a lot in critical moments. i "heard" there have been firrmware issues on z2 which causes phone to become warmer and it also lags tiny bit which is strange... if i had a problem with windows OS i would still buy this baby Z2. in a heartbeat. but end of the day camera, battery life and screen size made me switch. xperia z ultra was my first choice.buts its. too big for me. 6.4 inch screen and the bezel around it on both sides. wow. but nokia is compact enough yet big enough for multimedia consumption.

in the last year i bought one z2, and in my opnion is the best cell phone, I love this cell phone.The is so beautiful design, the camera is the best, the PlayStation app is so different, but have one problem the glass,the rear window breaks every time falls,but the cell phone have this problems, I stay waiting to the new sony Z. in 2015 I had the Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z2, Moto X and a OnePlus2.. Also an LG G2. That was a fun year for sure.. The HTC One M7 started that whole hobby the year before. had never seen a piece of pocketable electronics like that before. quality went from corny to stupid high end with one device.

You have to heat the glue holding the glass panel on the back of the phone to access the inside if you want to replace the battery. It's not user serviceable, so you literally have to disassemble part of the phone to access it.

Currently I use this phone for my daily driver. The sad thing about Z2 is when I take so many pictures + recording at the same time, the phone suddenly quit to home screen and a message appear "Camera will now turn off temporarily to cool down". This is frustrating...and this happen probably regarding the waterproof seal. Previously I use Note 3 but I have no problem using camera for long period.
