Great question. Diesel is always the answer due to the weight. Anything that is already engineered into the truck with an 600lbs on the front end is the way to go! Versus a gas motor that’s super light…it’s a no brainer for us. Some hate diesel and choose gas. Just understand this… Every counterweight we’ve put on a gas motor truck. The customer ended up taking off because it was killing his brakes. Shocks struts, and tires too soon. So we stopped 🛑✋🚫 adding counterweights to trucks, If the customer wants a counterweight we suggest getting a bigger truck or longer truck. Trucks with long wheelbases & gas motors perform way better than the shorter wheelbase trucks with a gasser.

Ok, so I’ve got a 2003 Regwncy 1500HD, it came with 5 leafs, and they don’t make that 1500hd any longer. It’s a crewcab 4x4 with an 8 inch lift. If I ever win the lottery and could buy a new GMC and have it tricked out, I would use it to haul my Black Series travel trailer, a 2020 because they sold it to a chineses company and the quality went down. Hey I have a great idea. Why don’t I drive my truck to you and you can use it as a “Testimonial of what you can do to any truck, no matter the year??? We could put stickers on it to show who rebuilt it. Now the engine has 100k miles and the same engine specs as a 2500, but I’d like to put a beasts motor in it. What do you think???
