I was at a live concert of this band in Japan, which was great. 5:32 This section is called "Shigin", a traditional reciting technique of Chinese/Japanese poems. Yuko was the former national champoion of this art. This part of lyrics is from a poem by Ouyang Xiu, 11th century Chinese poet. It says "a leopard's fur is so beautiful that people keep it lomg after its death, and like this, a man's name is long remembered by later pelple because of his fame and royalty during his lifetime." This citation fits well with the lyrics of the entire song.

You can always see Yuko dances with a sword during their live performance. In that part of "Sun Wheel", she also illustrates "Shigin", which is a traditional Japanese way to recite poem. Yuko started her training when she was 5 years old and is a qualified master.

The tradicional instruments are: koto (the harp), shamisen ("banjoo"), wadaiko (drums) and shakuhachi (flute).

I wanted to go to bed, but i saw your 'Sun Wheel' video popping up and i knew i had to go to the Bamboo forest first😁 Its one of their new faster songs and i like it a lot. Glad to hear that you follow them on social media 👍 Your reaction to this band are so much fun: "i don't know whats going on" xD "she has a sword" - why not? Yuko is trained in sword dance. She could be a modern Samurai, because of this and her shigin singing. Cya next time.

Waggaki Band...they arent just musician but they are Gods and Goddess and engineers of their own musical instruments... Suzuhana Yuko - Vocals Machiya - Guitar Asa - Bass Wasabi - Drums Beni Ninagawa - Tsugari Shamisen (traditional 3 string guitar) Kurona - Wadaiko ( traditional drums) Kiyoshi - Koto ( traditional harp) Daisuke - Sakuhachi ( traditional flute) ...sir i recommend to please do comment to their other songs.. -Ignite -Sunwheel -Valkyrie -Okinotayuu -Zenbonsakura -Perfect Blue ( live ) -Subaku no Komoruita -Tengaku -Ame Nochi Kajouron -Sasameyuki -Yuki kage boushi and still more.. Hard not to like Wagakki band. I think they are awesome. The harp thing your are referring to is a Koto. In Korea they are referred to as a gayageum. Luna Lee on KZbin does some amazing covers and her own work using a gayageum

You got the Wagakki virus. :D I felt the same when i found them - what is this, what is that, what's going on, oh wow. Even though i already have seen half of the traditional instruments and i was familiar with the culture, i haven't seen such combination of awesome and awesome, 8 pieces in one. I will recommend something. "Tori no youni", "Doppo" (original version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqScg3iDlLGDsLc ; new version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rGPQomCAbryajtE); Hakushu kassai, Strong faith (music video), Nijiro chocho, and World dominatuon to make a contrast.
