i used the sniper rifle, stealth pistol, and crossbow with only trained level skill in pistol and rifle and not really understanding the game's mechanics. i got onto the roof of the nsf base and got seen. i was on realistic difficulty. i was barely holding on through the waves of nsf troops rushing up the stairs, advancing down one floor at a time, switching between my sawed-off, sniper rifle, and assault rifle, and one floor down when a large group of guards came up into the room with the crates in it, i threw a perfectly timed gas grenade at 0:26. i was taking hits almost as often as i was handing them out, out of bio energy just from using the flashlight since i took too long to figure out the flashlight was an augment. i was exchanging fire with guards from across the hole in the floor of the room with the indoor balcony, and got lucky shots off with the sniper rifle until i realized the generator i had to destroy was just downstairs. shot a barrel next to it with the sniper rifle and finished off the last of the guards as they came up the stairs. bad. ass. this is peak imsim combat.
