This scene is symbolic because we can see at the same time Adam having sex with Megan and Adam being augmented. Thus augmented Adam is a "child" of his former self and Megan's effort, metaphorically speaking he is a son of Adam and Megan.

Lo_Wang, tbh I don’t want another Deus Ex game with Adam. Not because I don’t like him-quite the opposite, really. I just think it’ll never be as good. Mankind Divided wasn’t as good as Human Revolution imo. Also, Deus Ex shouldn’t turn into a franchise with frequent sequels. Part of what made HR so magical was that it gave us a chance to return to the Deus Ex universe after so many years.

Adam Jensen was a genetically modified child created in a lab, his genes would be used on other children but their parents burned the lab down and handed him to an old lady to find adoptive parents for him. His genes allows his body to quick recover and adapt easy with synthetics. He doesn't even need neuropozyne to avoid rejections on his augmentations because his body doesn't reject augmentations at all.
@needamuffin9 жыл бұрын
***** His body doesn't reject them, yes, but that's an oversimplification. His body creates a natural barrier to envelope the interface between organic and synthetic materials. This is the point where a normal person would develop the glial tissue that neuroprozene takes care of, but instead, Adam's body just tricks itself into thinking the implant is part of his natural body.

Plus they exchanged the protagonist having limbs shot off with blood everywhere which could have looked good with today's practical effects, and replaced it with a pesky car bomb. I love this opening credits scene so much. Not only do the visuals and audio blend perfectly, but I found the sexual imagery very emotionally moving. Why? Because sexual passion is the ultimate epitome of physical skin-to-skin contact, and the total body sensations one derives during love making e.g.using your hand to caress someones skin, or feeling a hand grab firmly on your hips, or arms, etc. ... these are the things that Adam will never be able to experience again as he becomes part machine. And this scene beautifully depicts this pivotal turning point in his life. Then when you learn why Megan is sorry at the end of the game, it all really comes home. It feels like the one person who had given Adam his most intimate moments in life was also the same person who was (at least partially) responsible for taking it away from him.

+Darth Jar Jar Well writen, but as i recall in "official" Sarif-industries web-site where all characteristics of implants and prostheses were listed there was one quality that all "external" augumentations have - "outer layers made of nano-something, that can translate "sensitive" information like texture, pressure, temperature and so into brain wery same way natural bodyparts do" so i think it's only "emotional" (f*ck emotions) loss, and his body still able to feel. And the reversive side - others to feel you. Remember the prostitutes in Hengsha - they said that "clients like augumented more" and i think that augumentations do not feels any different than original limb or so. They probably have same temperature, same texture etc. So the only catch is to "heal" from PTSD, because augumentations are very same bodyparts like original ones... just better

Destructerator If he's dying right there, they may have been scrambling to get everything together. Neuroprosthyses and such. The things to get him alive first, then the limbs second. I pretty sure surgery is a busy ordeal. :P

***** plus sarif wanted more of adam tissue to keep experimenting its even mentioned in one email. "more samples sudenly became available"

Destructerator I'm still amazed that he survived having all of those augmentations implanted on the same surgery.

The guy says miraculous because his body did not reject augmentations,Which nobody had shown before. His DNA helped in creation of neuropyzne ,a drug that helped people get used to augmentations.
@darwinuang77645 ай бұрын
no, Jensen was not related to the creation of Neuropozyne. however, Megan _did_ research him, and what she found was the reason Sarif was attacked at the beginning of the game.

I played this yesterday for the first time in 2022, and the opening two hours were absolutely mind blowing. If you worked on this game, very well done!

If this was a movie and the opening like this... It would have won as minimum 10 oscars. A masterpiece.

Am I the only one who noticed that they printed in the word "Sarif" near his heart?

I had a surgery to repair the meniscus in my right knee after I tore it in an MMA fight. The doctor told me the sutures in the repaired tissue would never tear again, and it felt like this cutscene lmao

Not to be picky but at 1:21 there is a picture of a radiograph type thing of his hand... That radiograph is not of a grown mans hand, epiphyseal plates haven't fused... Judging by the epiphyseal lines and the fact that he doesn't have a Pisiform that I can see I'd say he is 6-9 in this picture... :/
@omdhdk10 жыл бұрын
Kind of cool that you noticed. I don't know one thing about radiology :)

it could be just that practically all his bones are shattered and they put them together using metal bones thus the whole twist neck like 20times one handed in melee kill thing
@01Chris0210 жыл бұрын
Emmett Cutter Metal does not appear that way on radiographs, it's much too dense and appears visually as a solid white normally. If you google paediatric wrist x-ray you will see many examples that look similar. :)
@happyninja4210 жыл бұрын
lol, well actually, what you said is "to be picky" xD I mean, you don't point out a minor detail like that without the intent to "be picky" about it. Not that I care that you pointed it out, but at least admit you ARE being picky about it :)

SPOILER - If you follow the side missions its very possible they have x-rays of when he was 6-9 years old. He has a very interesting history.
