Yeah, just like waren spectors two teams... eidos Montreal had the gameplay... And cdpr has the story.. now if only we can get them in the same room, well that would be a fucking disaster. We all know as it turns out eidos Montreal are about as OCD and functional in a crunch as cdpr turns out is.. I mean look at avengers.. same people, you can't say it was different people for the same publishers the same fucking people... You know minus whoever left. But yeah, like I appreciate it the story lines in the Deus ex games but I think that was more out of adorability than actual quality.. every character when it when it talked was was like on a soapbox giving a massive dialogue response like the old days when debates were debates... which is I don't know when that was but I heard it happened in high schools... Like you trying to get used to it but it never feels real in any way, people just don't talk like that.. and that's one thing cdpr really gets which is fucking ironic because they're polish, but they fucking get how people talk and I don't really give a shit about any of that tech or the ability to craft Giant open worlds or any of that shit what makes them valuable is they have an understanding of characters and character development that does not exist in but a few handful of games. . and yeah for the time it was it definitely doesn't age as well but it ages a lot better than it should the original Deus ex. And now I am really sad because gosh darn it, cyberpunk was so damn close and succeeded and surpassed in some ways to what they were trying to do with the day of sex franchise and it did have better tech it just didn't have you know a coherent management team at all and some other things that turns out are important.. it's actually really simple what happened with cyberpunk is really stupid that that's that simple but it is what it is, well the only thing it's not directly sample is the over management at CD project, that just seems more like greed and you'd say that simple and at the same time, the shit they went through to get that company off the ground and to save the company I don't know I'm just willing to give him a little leeway until proven abjectly false, seems like people are really quick to drop off a cliff and there was definitely issues but then I don't drop anybody off a cliff if I don't have to.... That being said it's a lot easier if I want to, and I look at that talent of that character writing and I go back to like an evolution of what bloodlines started and I just haven't seen that in an RPG other than maybe the machine games ones with Riddick that back when they were starbreeze.. you can actually pick up assault on dark Athena and the original remaster it comes in the same thing you just play it like one game basically it adds all the new combat moves to the first one so it actually and actually it plays better cuz you can stun lock and then get around people and break their necks.... Oddly enough, the only other game I can think of where you can stunlock people and then get around them and break their necks well maybe crisis but differently I guess still cool, but very specifically.. cyberpunk go figure.. Fuck it's almost the same way to do it too except they actually acknowledge that it should exist and they gave it a perk just kind of annoying but probably the best perk in the game... Regardless I am still so fucking excited for the night dive studio system shock, I have a feeling they're going to be very faithful to the original because that's what they do, the systems they modernized have been good systems and will make it playable as opposed to drivable LOl { yes that joke works fuck you for anybody you said otherwise} at the same time I feel like that's what we're going to get we're going to get a a faithful remake, that will work because system shot was so mind-blowing you to be far behead of its time, I mean shit they've done some some some tweaks to to fix the UI interface and the re-released they did cuz you know you kind of have to LOL but that game still has more advanced gameplay than most shooters.. certainly more than fucking Bioshock did... Ken you owe me an explanation and I will have satisfaction motherfucker! I'm not mad.. I'm not angry, I might have been angry before but I just want you to know I'm not angry so let's talk about this right? Like there was swat 4, and there was system shock 2 and then there was BioShock... Wwhha hapennn?

I am hoping all of the allusions to Jensen being "Icarus" from the theme of Human Revolution's OST being titled such to some of the visual allegories present in that game's trailers to other metaphors later on in Mankind Divided, as well as some of Jensen's augments even being named such (Icarus Landing System..) means that somehow the Jensen titles will tie into the original and he has somehow become the AI Icarus (Helios / Daedalus etc..) from the original game -that was my theory of how the character would 'live on' and be tied to the future original installment starring the Denton Bros. anyway. I guess we will have to wait a few more years to find out. Please make it happen, Eidos Montreal! You're done focusing on the flub that was Avengers!

They probably wanted for Jensen to become that, or at least the technology would be based on his body (don’t know if alive or dead).
@NicheGames3 жыл бұрын
Well, both Human Revolution and Mankind Divided mention humans and machines merging (The Hyron project in HR and the Machine God Ascension in MD). And since Jensen and Eliza are driven toward each others and "becoming the same" (according to Eliza), maybe in the end they may "ascend" together and if that happens, the result may possibly be Icarus. That would be an interesting character's developement : From fully human in HR, Jensen would have became fully machine at the end of the trilogy, at least biologically.

I’m slow af because I never made the connection, but everything you say makes sense and would be absolutely wonderful if Eidos could finish connecting the dots and linking it to OG Deus Ex.

I've literally just picked up DXMD for the 1st time since I played it through on release, and am genuinely enjoying it more this time around. Gone is the rush to 'beat the game', to be replaced by a desire to fully explore it's environment. This time around, with a RTX 3070 under the hood, it's as smooth as butter in 4k, and a hugely enjoyable experience. If I have one complaint, it's the size of your inventory... and it's restrictions about how many of a particular weapon you can hold in it (one), meaning you can't collect them for selling on. One of the most polished releases of the last 10 years without a doubt, and I'm now gagging for another chapter

In 2017, I had my first gaming laptop (as I was off to college that year, funny enough to the Czech Republic) and I was absolutely blown away by mankind divided, it looked amazing and I loved the game play/world. Now in 2023, I’ve started playing the original and my god even though the graphics are dated it’s hands down, without any doubts one of the best games I’ve ever played, it’s so though provoking and eerily relevant to today’s world. Deus ex 1 is one of those games, that will never age out. People will always play it. Every time you mention it, someone reinstalls it, and every time someone makes a video on it, someone takes their first dive.
@quinnmarchese63133 жыл бұрын
honestly, this is just my opinion but hear me out, i think there are a good few games from 2000-2005 that replicate Deus Ex's feel while aging much better than Deus Ex. if the cyberpunk narrative is your favorite aspect, i will conceed that there isn't really a better cyberpunk immersive sim in that era, but if the RP aspects are your favorite, may i direct you to Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines? Graphically, VTMB is leagues ahead, despite the small level size. Source Engine nowadays is woefully outdated, but its games aged really well, especially in the facial animation department, and since most of VTMB is really good conversation, the best feature of Source is on full display, and the roleplay allowances of each conversation and encounter mean the game holds up well as an RPG. if the stealth of Deus Ex was your favorite aspect, all three original Thief games hold up much better to gameplay scrutiny, while allowing for a vast array of gadgets and tools for player experimentation. I didn't grow up with the original two Deus Ex games so there is also some of that informing my opinion, but imo, Deus Ex 1 is super clunky, not good to look at graphically, and while it does everything it does rather well for how much its packing into one game, i think Deus Ex would've benefitted if its design was trimmed a little, maybe cut out some of the conversational elements to refine the AI. each of the other games i mentioned tend to have paired down its design to the necessities. VTMB fully supposes that you're a vampire: no day/night cycles, you do your socialization in night clubs, you need blood and how you get it is largely up to you, whether its paying for some alone time with an escort or subsisting on rats in the sewers. Elements that don't need to be there, like an in depth health system are tossed out the window. Same with Thief, player vulnerability actively prevents combat, making that typical pillar of gameplay non-essential, allowing the devs to spend more time making carpet quieter than tile.

@@quinnmarchese6313 It doesn't matter if other games have better AI, graphics, gameplay. Only that matters is that even tho everything is bad in Deus Ex, it's still one of the best games ever made. I would put it in Top 5.

@quinnmarchese63133 жыл бұрын
@@corpsecandy2076 dog you are misrepresenting my argument. of course VTMB is clunky, but its a better game for roleplaying than Deus Ex. i love Deus Ex, i adore it, but all i was saying is that other games did specific things better. Of course deus ex is ahead of its time and a brilliant game, it fucking wrote the book on immersive sim games, but other games exist to perfect the otherwise clunky elements from Deus Ex. VTMB and Fallout New Vegas are basically the perfect RPGs, Thief and Dishonored exist as great stealth games, the later Deus Ex games are more digestible experiences. you seem to think i hate Deus Ex, i don't man. i just think other games are more fun to play in 2021

There is a lot more you can do with Adam. The game has become more about "him" and his story. They could merge old and new together and have Adam tag team with Denton. I still don't get why people seemingly, "dislike" Mankind Divided (okay aside from the abrupt ending, which I too disliked). Mankind Divided taught me that it is MUCH better to have a smaller semi-open world that's more densely packed than just going for, "open world" as the target for game development only for that open world to mostly feel empty and devoid.

I never really felt like MD was abruptly finished, as it concluded the storyline it started. The bigger issue I think is the overreaching plot which was very subtle (and unnoticable to those who did not pay full attention) in HR was thrown into your face in MD, making it look like the conflict inside Illuminati was MD's plotline, when in truth it was the overreaching plot of both HR and MD, creating the field for the plot and setting of the originals.
