Uh. The actress that played Stella in the first one was the best human part of the movie. Yes She fit the trope of the really hot girl that has perfect make up in a blizzard, but she gave it her all. She was charismatic, tough, convincing and emotional. In this film, she’s just this vapid, soulless Paris Hilton look alike. I guarantee you her recent filmography consists of playing corpses on csi shows, and monster fodder in blumhouse films.

3:03 Not to defend this movie, but you remember the Vampires in 30 Days of Night have very distinct looking eyes, basically pitch black pupils that would arguably make them stand out even more than without the sunglasses. And I doubt they can just buy contact lenses.
@deusdeaconReviews11 ай бұрын
well firstly they can't get contacts? why not? they can acquire everything else from clothes and ships but more importantly, next time you are outside walking take a look at other people's eyes I guarantee you'll have to get pretty close before you can see any sort of detail, you won't have the same issue with people wearing sunglasses and at night, they'll be even more noticeable

@diecastinsanity4835 жыл бұрын
Another fun fact: some of the earliest folklore involving vampires depicts them as spirits who drained the ethereal energy of their victims to sustain their own existence and avoid what was called the "second death." And in ancient Ancestor Worship it was believed that if regular offerings weren't given to the dead their spirit would leave their place of rest to feed off of anything they can reach, including their own families. The idea of the physical body rising to drink the blood of the living wasn't common in vampire folklore until much later in history.

I have a theory about that which is the studio producers want to phase out the comic author from the profits, after all the less work they're connected with, the less money they're given, and instead goes to a writer the studio has exclusivity with for potential sequels, only a theory but would make sense

I thought the same thing about the gun at the bedside. One, if you're going to keep one, a fucking 9mm is useless against them. You're better off keeping a .44 or .50 caliber handgun at minimum, must be a dead-eye with it as only a headshot will be effective. But a 12g semi-auto shotgun would be better. However, you'd probably really would want to get a katana or sword of some sort that's razor sharp, and practice swinging it.

Few positives i'll give this movie, having read the Dark Days comic, there's some scenes that match the comic's aesthetic, some good casting choices, Dane and Norris looked like their comic counterparts despite Dane being a completely different character in terms of his personality and role in the story, Mia Kurshner was a good choice for Lilith but due to the bad script and low budget, she wasn't even close to being as intimidating as her comic counterpart, in the comic, Lilith wasn't afraid of killing her own kind to get what she wants, ripping off a vampire's face at one point, comic was 10x better.

I do beleive in the first installment of 30 Days of Night (film at least) the vampires did speak English. The head guy said "God? No god" and a young girl vampire even said "You gonna play with me now?" So they can talk in the first film at least. That part of the movie didnt contradict itself. Though with the rest of the inconsitanses it's hardly worth the one fact. That's how poorly the filmmakers cared.
@deusdeaconReviews4 жыл бұрын
well the child had no knowledge of the language so why would she use it and that moment you mention you can tell Marlowe has tremendous difficulty articulating english words after so long using the vamp language, its been a very long time since i made this video so i honestly cant remember if i got my point across effectively but what i was trying to get across was not that they CAN’T use english just that they DON’T because the vamp language is easier in a fanged mouth, and even then the fact this film doesn’t show the use of a vamp language at all is an inconsistency
@Jay-gurl4 жыл бұрын
