The words don’t have the English translation, so I don’t even know what half of those actions are by just seeing the animation, and I only knew because I watched the video with automatic Icelandic subtitles and because I know most of the infinitive forms of those verbs in German, but for some of them I couldn’t figure out what the translation was because automatic German to Icelandic translations aren’t always accurate, so, one should never replace actual translations (with the written English words under the German words) with animations or pics etc, as seeing those animations doesn’t really help and doesn’t tell one exactly what that verb is supposed to be in many of those cases, so vocab videos should always include the written English translations and also saying the English translation out loud at least once, otherwise learners aren’t going to be able to learn and process most of these verbs or even decipher what each animation is supposed to mean in a few seconds, so there’s no time to think or process the words, that’s why seeing and hearing the written English translation under each word is necessary to truly understand and learn all the words - for future videos, I would suggest including the written English translation under the German word, and saying the German word once slowly and then saying the English translation out loud once and then saying the German word again at normal speed, which is the best format for learners! (I would also suggest maybe even including an extra / optional translation such as Icelandic subtitles or Dutch subtitles, so that one can also choose to watch the video with subtitles in other languages as well, as German to Icelandic translations and German to Dutch translations and German to English translations aren’t very accurate at the moment, so it doesn’t always translate the word correctly if it’s an automatic translation, for example, I watched the video with Icelandic subtitles because I am already advanced level in Icelandic, but I noticed that some of the words weren’t translated correctly, only about 80% of them maybe!)

For future videos, I would suggest including the written English translation under the German word, and saying the German word once slowly and then saying the English translation out loud once and then saying the German word again at normal speed, which is the best format for learners, as seeing animations or pics etc doesn’t help in most cases as it is not easy to decipher what the animation is supposed to mean most of the times, plus there isn’t even time to think, so, in vocab videos and language learning videos the written English translation should always be included under the German word, and the English translation should always be said out loud at least once after saying the German word once, and then saying the German word again after saying the English translation, which is necessary for the learner to really understand and process each word - I would also suggest maybe even including an extra / optional translation such as Icelandic or Dutch subtitles, so that one can also choose to watch the video with subtitles in other languages as well, as German to Icelandic translations and German to Dutch translations and German to English translations aren’t very accurate at the moment, so it doesn’t always translate the word correctly if it’s an automatic translation, for example, I watched about 30 minutes of the video with Icelandic subtitles because I am already advanced level in Icelandic, but I noticed that some of the words weren’t translated correctly, only about 80% of them maybe! (By the way, for some of the words, the examples and / or animations used as examples should be different and not include actions that are not right, for example, animations that include activities that aren’t right such as the lifting of ppl or anything involving physical contact etc shouldn’t be used, and the examples used for flowers should be positive that encourage the protection of precious beings such as flowers / trees / plants etc, as opposed to incorrect actions such as the plucking of flowers or the felling of trees or the mowing of grass etc, for example, using sentences such as ‘I like to behold the pretty flowers in the garden’ or ‘I like to go for a walk in the forest and behold the colorful flowers and tall trees’ or something like that, and, when it comes to sentences, I would also suggest including the English translations for the sentences and leaving the sentence / word on screen for more seconds, as most of the times one has to replay the part again to fully read all the words and to process the translations if one is watching with automatic subtitles, and, without the automatic subtitles one won’t understand most of the words, so it’s still necessary to watch with the automatic subtitles, even though they aren’t always accurate, and there is no , or . when it’s an automatic translation, and because of that it’s not easy to read, so, including the English hardcoded translations as well as saying the English translations at least once and having the words and sentences on screen for more seconds would improve the format a lot and would make it easier for the learner to understand and process each word, and including an optional other subtitle would also make it easier for learners that aren’t fluent in English yet, because if a subtitle is included as an option it can be translated to another language that is on yt subtitles, so a lot more learners would be able to learn!)

I would also recommend using a format similar to the ‘word study’ and ‘word collect’ segments from the vocab video that has over 1.400 Icelandic words with English translation under each word, which lasts for about 10+ hours, as that is one of the best formats for learners, and, for nouns I would also suggest including the article, as similar formats could also be used when teaching German words - by the way, I am advanced level in Icelandic and Norwegian and upper advanced level in Dutch and upper intermediate level in Norse / German / Danish / Faroese / Swedish etc and some of my other target languages and intermediate level in Gothic and Welsh and Breton and Irish, and I am learning them together!
