@@r65-h4g I think they're a lot better than the rep they get. Gen 1 and 2 have problems but Gen 3 and 4 are perfectly fine if you treat them right. Also they made A LOT of them over the years in different variations in pretty much every car the VW AG made in the past 17 or so years when they came out, so even if you see a lot of them broken online there are millions more out and about with no or barely any issues.

Not a fan either... When I first started dating my wife, she had a Dalmatian and the inside of her Acura Integra was actually worse than this GTI. Had pretty good luck with a stiff brush attachment for my shop vacuum. Better than using the nozzle or hose end at least.

Last December I was doing course check in my Mk7 GTI for a stage rally at a ski resort in BC. The snow was lower than usual and I discovered a some large concrete thing under the snow. It was an inch or so higher than the bottom of the car. The front bumper did a big ripple that broke most of the plastic bits under the bumper cover. It also pushed the core support up and destroyed it bottom half but not before it broke a lug off of the end of the intercooler. I watched Paul's old intercooler video many times to figure out how things went together to repair things. A few years ago, a guy doing a GTD conversion on a Mk7 TDI gave me the TDI bumper cover so I installed that on my GTI while I repair the GTI bumper. Then I realized that the ramp angle on the TDI bumper cover is better for the gravel road driving that I do, so I left it on the car. I have all of the parts but I still haven't repaired the GTI bumper.

I just blught a 2015 gti with a decent amount of km on it. The interior is absolutely immaculate, the exterior has paint bubble around the door handles and 3 of 4 fenders... Not super worried ill get the paint taken care of. Car runs and drives amazing, I've been watching all your gti videos lol

Curious what offset of Rim/Wheel do you need to have to clear the brakes on a PP GTI or a 7.5 so you wouldn't need a spacer? I am not a huge fan of spacers, don't they put more stress on the bearings? This GTI will be a decent car once its all sorted. Its sad to see what people do to their cars. Treat them like this, then when they don't run right balme VW for making a crap car? Makes no sense.

i need to take out my carpet and clean it because mildew, I think (from bad seals I still haven't located and fixed). You don't have one of those videos. But if you did, I'd watch the shit out of it. Also, what glue do you recommend to attach a mirror to the...mirror part? Mine fell off the passenger mirror, but I grabbed it before it fell and shattered. Have it attached by duct tape for 6 months.... Also, what do you wanna bet the speaker seals and rear vent seals are bad? Yeah, you should do a video on fixing those, too. Also one on replacing the leather shifter fabric...mine wore away somehow and looks lame. Also....do you need any copyediting/technical writing? fml
