Incredible embellishments of this piece! I played it as a 10 years old kid, it is not the difficulty but the art - Maestro Solokov is expressing here sublime chiaroscuri in the progressions that I never heard before...

I love this man’s playing. Music above all ego. The thing is that as music evolved from Bach to Mozart to Beethoven to Brahms to Liszt the performer’s licence grows respectively, it’s pretty interesting.

Sokolov is very good but I dislike the way he delays every cadence almost every single time. Why do artists do that? Conductors, singers, fiddle players, quartet players,.... 1:29 and so many other places.....

Wonderful. But, it's more of a Chopin style than a Mozart.

Wonderful, indeed! But, If we listen to the available performances of Chopin and Mozart by Sokolov with enough attention and interiority, we will notice all the different details that Sokolov reveals of the two composers, such as articulation, tempo, use of pedalling, etc. In addition to these technical characteristics, his Mozart is more naive, with an overall freshness, and his Chopin is more poetic and full of nuances.
