Kishore da and Rafi sahab were both great singers. We cannot compare these two legends. Certain actors had their preference among these two as they thought that particular singer matched their on screen persona. For Dev saab, I think he preferred Kishore da more. Kishore da did not sing for Dev saab from 1957 till 1965. During this time Rafi saab was the main playback singer for Dev saab. But once Kishore da restarted singing for Dev saab from Guide in 1965, he became the main playback singer. From 1970 onwards, Rafi saab sang very little for Dev saab.

Yes true. Actually S D Burman was d main link between Dev Sahab and Kishore Da during 50s and 60s. And in early 60s Burman Da was not well, and he had to miss few Dev Sahab movies, and perhaps thats d reason why Kishore Da's voice was missing for Dev sahab during this period.

अरे मेरे भाई, रफी साहब जैसा गाणे वाले हजारो सिंगर मिलेंगे.... और हुबेहूब उनकी गायकी की नक्कल करेंगे . पर मेरे गुरुदेव किशोर दा जैसा आजतक ना कोई सिंगर पैदा हुआ न होंगा. रफी के गाणे 10 बार सुनेंगे और बोरं हो जाओगे. पर किशोर दा के गाणे हजार बार सुनो. कभी बोरं नहीं होते... ये हैं आवाज का जादू. और आज की जनेरेशन उनके ही गाणे सुनीते हैं.. ये हैं आवाज का पावर. सही में आप tally करो और resurch करो.. अभ्यास करो. मैंने, दोनो सिंगर की गायकी की स्टडी की.. तो समज आया.. किशोर दा सब सिंगर का बापं निकाल... समजे बच्च्यु... मै भी एक सिंगर हूं...❤🙏❤

दोनों महान गायक कोई शक नहीं है लेकिन आपने कहा कि "चाहूंगा मै तुझे शाम सवेरे......"किशोर दा नहीं गा सकते थे ये बात हजम नहीं हुई जो गायक "जिंदगी का सफर है ये कैसा सफर...", "मेरा जीवन कोरा कागज़..,"ओ साथी रे तेरे बिना भी क्या जीना, फिजा के फूल पे आती कभी बहार नहीं जैसे अमर गीत गा सकता है वो जादूगर ये सीधा सादा गाना नहीं सकता था।एक फिर कहता हूँ कि दोनों महान थे फर्क इतना है कि जिनके सिर पर सम्प्रदायवाद का भूत सवार है वही दूसरे को कम आंक लेता है या जिसे संगीत की समझ नहीं और गाने के बोलों के आधार पर गायकी का आकलन करता है वह यह नादानी कर बैठता है

देखीये मेरा मतलब किसी भी गायक को कम आकना नही था। पर किसी गाने मे कोई गायक पहले गाकर एक बेंचमार्क सेट।कर देता है, जैसे रूप तेरा मस्तान एक सिम्पल गीत है जिसे गाने को तो मोहम्मद रफ़ी भी गा सकते थे पर सिचुएशन के हिसाब से जो रोमांटिक फील इसमे किशोर दा ने पैदा किया है वो दुबारा पैदा नही हो सकता। ठीक वैसे ही चाहूँगा गाने मे रफ़ी साहब ने जो अंतरे मे जो दर्द पैदा करके जो मुर्किया ली हैं वो लाजवाब गायिकी है। मै खुद भी शौकिया तौर पर गाता हूं और इसलिये कौन सा गीत गाने मे कित्ना आसान या मुश्किल है पता चल जाता है।

I think Dev Anand is wrong. All the songs Rafi Sahab sang for Shammi Kapoor are not Classical Or Gazal types. Even for Dev Anand Rafi Sahab sang fast songs like - jia ho jia kuch bol de or payar mohatbat se seva etc. Rafi Sahab is not only famous for Gazal or Classical songs. Rafi Sahab sang all kind of songs.

It may be Dev Sahab's personaly choice as well. There r many songs in 50s and 60s which even Kishore Da could've sung, but music directors like, Naushad, O P Nayyar alwz wanted Rafi Sahab to sing. Even laxmi pyare only started considering Kishore Da frequently after 1970s, when he became popular as singer, before that.. they used to pick Rafi Sahab and used Kishore Da only for his own movies.

मैं ,देवानंद जी के विचारों से शतप्रतिशत सहमत हूं ,पर मैं मानता हूं कि किशोर दा "सरगम' पर अधिकार रखते थे और मनचाहे ढंग से उसका उपयोग करते थे जब कि रफीजी "सरगम" के फोलोअर थे और उसके दायरे को कभी नहीं तोङते थे ,सिवाय कुछ अपवाद के ।

Raj Kapoor had his own voice to sing for him - Mukesh Dilip apparently did not care - few of the singers voices suited him - actually Talat's voice suited him best but Talat's range was limited to sad soft songs - a bit the same as Rafi Dev Anand also wanted his own voice and preferred the Strong, deeper-voiced Kishore over Rafi, whose voice was weak Rafi was the dominant singer at that time and only Dev kept Kishore employed as a singer back in those days Back in the 50's & 60's the songs were slow, the music soft and stayed in the background and that suited Rafi's small, weak voice the best But then the 70's came, the music got faster and louder and Rafi's weak, small voice got drowned - you can see that in the very first song here - Rafi sang for Vinod Khanna and Kishore sang for Amitabh and we can easily see how the Big, Strong-voiced Kishore dominates the song over the weak and soft Rafi

Few of your analysis are spot on, particularly, the change of music towards late 60s and early 70s, especially when Pancham mixed fast western music with Indian classical which suited Kishore Da style of singing d most. Moreover, not just Rafi Sahab, in duet songs in particular, Kishore Da's resonating voice scored high over most male and female singers of his era. Only Mahendra Kapoor could stand a bit in Hera pheri song. But again, not going too loud or overboard and remaining in control of rythm and situation is also a key aspect of singing, which Kishore Da masterd over d years.

Ji bilkul, you are right. Not just Dev Sahab, After the rise of Rajesh Khanna in 1969, most star actors of 50s and 60s like Shammi Kapoor, Rajendra Kumar, Joy Mukherjee, Biswajeet, etc. Had to face d downfall. And Kishore Da's songs wer major factor in KAKA's sensational rise and success.

महाभकलन्ड तो तुम हो आजतक मोहम्मद रफी किसी को सुपरस्टार बनाया है लेकिन किशोर दा राजेश खन्ना अमिताभ बच्चन सुपरस्टार बनाया है जब भी मोहम्मद रफी किशोर दा के साथ मे गाया है किशोर दा पानी पिला दिया रफी को जानू मेरी जान गाना सुनलो कौन शेर है पता चल जायेगा और एक गाना तुम बिन जाऊ कहाँ सुन लो किशोर दा को उडलिंग से गाना को खूबसूरत बना दिया और वही रफी गाना मे कोई काम नहीं किया यही फर्क है दोनो मे किशोर दा गाना मे हरकत करते थे और मोहम्मद रफी सीधा गाते थे आशा भोसले भी कह चुकी है रफी साहब को जो लिख के दिया जाता था वही गाते थे गाना मे अलग से कोई काम नहीं करते थे।किशोर दा आवाज़ मर्द और बोल्ड है मोहम्मद रफी जैसा दबा कुचला जैसा आवाज़ नहीं है इसलिए किशोर दा से जलो मत सचाई को स्वीकार करो किशोर दा जीते जी कभी मोहम्मद रफी को उठने नहीं दिया।

ये वीडियो देव साहब के इंटरव्यू पर बेस्ड है, जिन्होने किशोर और रफ़ी के साथ तब से काम किया है जब उन्हे कोई जानता भीं नही था। पर फिर भी यहा कोई किशोर के लिये लड़ रहा है कोई रफ़ी के लिये। सन्गीत और गायिकी किसी भी कलाकार की हो एन्जॉय करना चाहिये, उन्हे नम्बर दे कर विवाद पैदा करना मकसद नहीं होना चाहिये। उन्होने खुद कभी दुश्मनी नहीं की, हमेशा एक् दूसरे का सम्मान किया, पर उनके फैन एक दूसरे के खून के प्यासे हो जाते हैं। अजीब बात है

Well, I mentioned this particular song of Kishore Da for a reason. Kishore Da got filmfare award for this very simple song just bcz of d sensuality, urge n feel he brought in d song as per the demand of that particular scene of the film. Plz watch the song once, look the eyes of Rajesh Khanna and thn listen to the Kishore da Voice in the background, you will feel same connection between the feeling of actor and the singer. Such understanding of song and situation only KK used to bring in his singing being an actor himself. There were many musical hits released in 1969, like Do Raste, Prince, Aya Sawan Jhoom ke, ek phool do mali, jeene ki rah, but filmare award went to Roop Tera Mastana song of Kishore Da for a reason. All Kishore Da songs of Aradhna created a sensation that time. Public went crazy after Rajesh Khanna, and Kishore Da songs like Roop Tera Mastana..surely played a huge part in KAKA's success and popularity.

Well every great singer sets a benchmark of his own. But fans keep a special bond with their favt. Singer so at times become partial to others. On dis video only, i hv read a comment from Kishor Da fan that why I mentioned that Kishore da couldn't sing Chahunga main tujhe..while kishore da has sung many emotional songs such as zindagi ke safar me, mere naina, etc. I said d same thing to him that every great singer sets his own benchmark for a song so its better not to compare and enjoy melodies sung by the greats.

Kishore Da's son Amit Kumar said in an interview that Roop tera mastana originl version was very different and was a little slow and based on a folk tune, but Kishore Da improvised dis song mixing it with a rythem of SD Burman's another song tune.. and S D burman himself as well as director shakti samanta liked the improvised version more than d original and rest is history. May be if Rafi Da had sung, it wud hv been in orginal version and who knows ..may not hv become this popular. That's why i said, every great singer sets his own benchmark for a song based on his voice singing n skills.

किशोर दा का तुलना मोहम्मद रफी से मत भाई किशोर दा मोहम्मद रफी से बहुत आगे थे और मोहम्मद रफी बहुत पीछे बिना संगीत सीखें किशोर दा सभी सिंगर को हवा मे उडा दिए थे किशोर दा का मरदाना आवाज़ सभी सिंगर पर भारी पड़ता था आजतक ऐसा कोई सिंगर पैदा नहीं लिया है जो किशोर दा का टक्कर दे सके आज भी किशोर दा को ही नंबर वन सिंगर माना जाता मोहम्मद रफी को नहीं।

No matter how talented you are the fact is... you also need some favours to stay in d industry. 50s, aur 60s मे ये फेवर रफ़ी साहब के पास था जब नौशाद, ओ पी नय्यर, मदन मोहन, लक्ष्मी प्यारे, इत्यादी रफ़ी साहब के अलावा किसी और सिंगर को नही लेते थे। किशोर दा को अपनी फिल्म के गाने भी काफी मनौती कर के गाने पडते थे कोइ सन्गीत्कार उन्हे गायक नहीं मानता था। फिर जब आराधना के बाद उन्का टाइम आया तो, पंचम, सचिन दा, कल्यान जी आनन्ंद जी, बप्पी दा इत्यादी के गाने उन्हे मिलने लगे फिर वही सब रफ़ी साहब के साथ होने लगा। ये दुनिया ही एसी है चढ़ते सूरज को सब सलाम करते हैं जिसका टाइम खराब हो उस से सब किनारा कर लेते हैं।

तुम बिन जाऊ कहाँ, जिन्दगी एक सफर है सुहाना किशोर दा ने कितना खूबसूरत अंदाज गाया है और यही गाना मोहम्मद रफी गा नहीं पाया। तुम बिन जाऊ कहाँ मे किशोर दा ने अहा अहा हूँ हूँ यूडलिंग और ज़िन्दगी एक सफर मे बहुत ही खूबसूरत यूडलिंग लिए है जो सुनने मे बहुत मज़ा आता है और मोहम्मद रफी का यूडलिंग के जगह पर म्यूजिक आता है मोहम्मद रफी गाना मे कोई काम नहीं किये है यही फर्क दोनों सिंगर मे, किशोर दा अपने तरह से गाना मे कुछ ना कुछ हरकत डालते रहते थे इसलिए किशोर दा महान कहलाते थे और यही कारण से सभी सिंगर किशोर दा से डरते थे।

भाई साहब देवानंद हिमाचल प्रदेश के धर्मशाला जिला कांगडा में पढते थे। मैं भी यहाँ का रहने बाला हूँ। बो जब 87 बर्ष की आयु में धर्मशाला आये तो उनसे रफी साहब के बारे में सवाल किया था। मैंने उनके मुंह से सुना है। उनका कहना था कि मेरे लिए सबसे बढिया गाने रफी साहब ने गाए हैं। आगे यह भी कहा कि रफी साहब को भारत रत्न जरूर मिलना चाहिए।

I am sorry if you find it that way, but thumbnail has to raise a little curiosity in d mind of viewers, to make video clickable. In fact I hv seen people using worst thumbnails insulting, and blaming d legends of yesteryears using unverified stuff abt celebs like... कोई कोठे वाले की बेटी थी, संगीतकार के गायिका से नाजायज़ सम्बंध, दूसरी औरत बन के रही, शादीशुदा पुरुषों से सम्बन्ध etc. And they r attracting thousands of subscribers despite this yellow journalism at worst. Even I hv seen few thumbnail spreading fake death news of celebrities. But instead of doing that crap, I just encouraged a little curiosity to make my channel survive in dis immoral and messy crowd of videos n channels. Hope u understand.

जी रफ़ी साहब जितने बड़े गायक थे उनकी शान में कुछ कह्नने के लिये हम कुछ भी नही। पर उनकी महानता से किशोर दा ने एक गायक के तौर पर जो सम्मान हासिल किया है वों किसी तरह कम नहीं होता। बात पोपुलर होने की नहीं है बात् श्रोताओं कें दिल तक पहुंचने की है। अगर सिर्फ क्लासिकल सिंगिंग ही महानता का पैमाना होता तो शायद मन्ना डे का नाम रफ़ी साहब और किशोर दा से भी पहले आता । लेकिन सुनने वालो के दिल तक पहुंचने का काम रफ़ी साहब और किशोर दा ने किया । इसिलिए इन दोनो का नाम मन्ना दा से पहले आता है। वैसे आपकी जानकारी के लिये किशोर दा ने अमिताभ जी केन्लीये गाना इसलिये बम्द किया था क्यूँ की अमित जी ने किशोर दा की होम्ं प्रोडक्सन फिल्म ममता की छांव मे गेस्ट रोल करने से मना कर दिया था, और फिल्म क्रेडिट पेमेंट वगैरह को लेकर भी मनमोहंन देसाई औरअमित जी से किशोर दा का कुछ इश्यू चल रहे थे। लेकिन बप्पि दा के द्वारा समझौता होने के बाद तूफान और शंहशाह मे किशोर दा ने फिर अमित जी के लिये गाया था। ये बात तो सबको पता है। और फिर जैसा देव साहब ने कहा रफ़ी सहब और किशोर दा दोनो अपनी जगह ग्रेट हैं। सोचिये किशोर दा बिना गाना सीखे बिना किसी ट्रेनिंग के भारत के आल टाइम ग्रेट सिंगर्स मे शामिल हैं, उनके गाये कई गीत तो आज के ट्रेन्ड सिंगर भी ढंग से नहीं गा पाते। और अगर उन्होँने मन्ना डे और रफ़ी साहब की तरह क्लासिकल भी सीखा होता तो क्या होता? फाइनली , जब दोनो खुद कलाकार एक दुसरे से प्यार और सम्मान से मिलते थे तो हम क्यूं इत्ने सालों बाद इनकी महानता की लडाई मे पड़ें।

Sorry for that.🙏🏻🙏🏻 No matter how cautiously I practice separately, during flow of speech, I more than often pronounce few words incorrectly as they seem to hv stuck incorrectly forever in my mouth🙂. That's why i prefer using alternate words. Here also, I better use TULNA while hindi speech i guess. The word 'Evil' used here is also one of such words.

Vaise Lata Jee aur Rafi Sahab dono ne Guiness book record me 25,000 se jyada aongs claim kiye, but later dono ke songs 7,000 se bhi kam prove ho paye aur ultimately only Asha Bhosle jee ka nam record me include hua with 10,000 songs. Toh jab singers ko khud confusion hai toh how can you and me be so sure how many songs they hv sung?? Hum keval wahi bata sakte hain jo proved hai. Aur maine Dev Sahab ki only un selected movies ko mention kiya hai jisme Rafi Sahab ne sare songs gaye hain. Sare songs ya sari movies ko ek video me mention karna possible nahin hai. But Kishore Kumar despite the presence of all great classical based singers like Rafi Sahab, Manna dey Mahendra Kapoor, Talat Mahmood, Mukesh, made his mark in d industry and became highly priced and most in demand singer in 1970s. Rajesh khanna se lekar Amitabh tak ki success me Kishore Da ke songs ka khas role raha hai. Kuchh to baat hogi. Public ke dil tak pahuchna har kisi ke bas ki baat nahin. Sab apni jagah great hain. No need to compare them.

ShivSena was founded in 1966 and Kishore Da sang his first song for Dev Annd in 1948 (Ziddi) when they both wer newcomers and both wer struggling to make their mark. After 1948 Ziddi movie, Kishore Da and Dev Sahab became friends and since then Kishore Da sang for Dev Anand constantly in his movies, at that time nobody else used to consider Kishore da a Singer. Pls check historical facts before judging and jumping to conclusions, else, there will be no difference between true art lovers and those who blindly follow leaders and parties.

कृपया मर्यादित भाषा का प्रयोग करें, किसी भी कलाकार के लिये इस तरह के शब्द अशोभनीय हैं। हर किसी के अपने पसंदीदा गायक या कलाकार होते हैं और इस बात का सम्मान होना चाहिये। पर जब आप अपने पसंदीदा को बडा दिखाने के लीये किसी दूसरे कलाकार को नीचा दिखाते हैं तो ना सिर्फ आप उस कलाकार का अपमान करते हैं, बल्कि उनके साथ जिन भी आर्टिस्ट ने काम किया उनका, और उन्की गायिकी को पसंद करने वाले फैन्स का भी अपमान करते हैं। आपके बयान से लगता है देव साहब, सचिन दा, लक्ष्मी प्यारे जिन भी महान कलाकारों ने उन्के साथ कम किया उन्हे अच्छी आवाज और गायिकी की समझ नहीं थी।
