Your projects are so much fun! I have all of the components to build this, but I wouldn't have ever made something this useful. Nice work.

You should place a ton of GND vias on that board. Especially along the edges of the PCB. These huge planes without connection will introduce much noise.
@pcka12

I suppose those planes act a aerials? Has the board design been upgraded to include 'vias'?

@@pcka12 It will result in a few things. IMO the main problem are "ground loops", which can begin to oscillate. Without vias, you can see that some points (GND to GND connections) on the PCB are unnecessary long. Looking at 1:33 : R38 (between U12 and U13) for example isnt even connected on the GND side (from what i can see), because the GND plane is cut from another trace. Its very complicated (for me) to explain all aspects here in a comment. On a PCB this size I would've placed at least 100 GND vias. A very very deep dive into that topic did @RobertFeranec with his PCB simulation series: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIHbY5ynort0frs

@@pcka12 Glad to help! I did study electrical engineering but I would say that I've learned all the useful stuff from tinkering (98%) and internships (2%). Study is great and all, but the interesting stuff comes out in the field lol

This is brilliant! Thank you very much for putting in all this effort and then sharing it with us. I’ve been looking for some kind of basis to see if I can make a better, more accurate multimeter with the features and ranges that I specifically want. It is so hard to find a known reputable commercial unit that doesn’t cost way too much money. Your schematics and code are all well written and easy to follow. This will be a big help to me! Thank you!! 👍🏻👍🏻

Another great video Andrei! I found the example of using more than one channel on the ADS1115 interesting (I believe that is what you did). The previous tutorial I found for using the ADS1115 only showed using a single channel. From the brief glimpse I caught of your code using the ADS1115 it looked like you used more than a single channel. I also found the SSR and MUX circuitry interesting. If I'm understanding that correctly then it would be a good example of how to switch between different channels/inputs controlled by a microcontroller. Thank you for putting this together and sharing it! I look forward to your next version of a DMM incorporating these improvements.

In arduino, by default, and so all the pins are inputs, so it is not necessary to additionally configure this.

nice project. One caviat I see is that you use the internal voltage reference of the ADS1115 in my experience it is not very acurate and getting a 0.1% reference externaly helps a lot.

Great project! With your current setup is it possible to add a mode to measure a battery internal resistance?

On the schematic in the Resistance block, you have one net called two different things, ADC2 and Probe-? Didn't that show up in the error checks?

Hi there this looks great I think that I will have a go at it and maybe even try and get Bluetooth ro lora working with it as I sometimes have to check a device at the end of a long cable. As this is a modular system I can pick what I need. So thanks
