A month ago I made a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request about F-111F manual, that you can find on public web sites and download for free. They answered yesterday, quote: "In your request, you did not request copies of any records, but instead asked questions regarding a manual you found on a public platform. The fact that it is freely available to the public addresses your question". So, maybe not every document is secret if it is from public source.

The thing about stealth planes is that they're not totally immune to radar locks, they just significantly reduce the radar lock distance required to reliably fire a missile at them... Locking an F-117 at ~10Km with an F-15's radar seems pretty reasonable to me. But of course, this means absolutely nothing in game because it will be mostly used in ground battles, and most of the time you're way closer to enemy radars than in air RB/SB...

It has been proven in real life to have a really good time evading radar locks, as only ever 1 that I know of was shot down. In warthunder however SPAA can lock this thing with absolute ease. I get the F-15 with decades of advanced technology, but not your average spaa.

Sure it might not be Immune to radar but it IS NOT in anyway not going to work against radar even within close range like the Dev server claims Range does not matter with stealth The increase in detection only increases in a meaningful way when the F-177 in right infront of the radar to soak up more radar to hopefully reflect. The real way stealth gets defeated by radar is near constant checking and beaming with highly sensitive radar with multiple sweeps and pings for atleast a minute to get to radar to even realise the plane exists. Or in the F-177's specific case, opening its bomb bay Even if not completely immune it is incredibly resistant to Radar

To be fair the F117 is quite old and stealth works at great distances. A modern radar (like the one of the F-15 and the Pantsir) should easily be able to lock onto it

No. Stealth makes you less detectable, not undetectable. So if without stealth pantsir can see target 36 kms away, with stealth this distance drops to 10-15

​@@deauthorsadeptus6920 Well the f-117 shootdown is a showcase of western complacency and lack of security and complete trust in their tech because serbian radar could only do that giant screaming like a lunatic sweeps because there was no seed aircraft to detect those radars and unload hell on them for screaming at them since they believed "oh stealth is conpletely fine guys omg bro" . A very unique case in the F-117 shootdown where the Serbians did spy work to detect what aircraft was in the air and was extremely lucky to do low frequency sweeps just when the bomb bay door was open and got a lock on.

(I know BR is based on performance and not year of introduction, but I think its gonna be really funny to see a stealth jet in a prop)

Tu4 can actually defend itself. There are heavily modified prop planes IRL (don't know its name),but it can carry AAM's,hellfires and guiding pods also has countermeasures,but even that thing would be more helpful

yup, F117 does give a radar return however a lot of them are either being absorb by the radar absorbing material or being bounce off, so at the best condition the return signal is so small the computer often read it as a background noise and so it doesn't appear on the radar interface

I really have to give some critisism here. Not especially towards you Zenturion, but to most WT Tubers. Why is everybody testing the F-117 against Aircraft Radar and saying: welp, Not so stealthy and weapons are bad. There is only one purpose of the Nighthawk and that is neutralizing Ground AA Systems, before the normal aircrafts are coming in. So the main Testing should be against Ground SPAAs, where i personally see the greatest Potential of the Nighthawk. To be fair, you Zenturion, tested it against Ground AA, even thought the Nighthawk won't See the Pantsir. But why is everyone else treating it Like it's a F-22?
