In fact, it seems like it's actually worse for f2p players. The shields are milestone points, so f2p players just lost milestone points and whatever rewards they could've gotten from them. (assuming the milestones aren't literally JUST Captain Britain shards)

When the game is good, I choose to spend. Importantly, I also feel good about spending. When the game is crap, like now, I choose not to spend. And also importantly, I feel good about not spending. This time around, it may also feel good to uninstall. I'll see how the game feels without Captain Britain first.

As a F2P player, this is absolutely awful. It feels like I’m being punished for not paying. I understand that players who pay money should get more in the game but not blocking me from unlocking characters and losing out on very good teams and future content. I know they say that he won’t be necessary for the legendary but I know it’s a lie and it will be almost impossible without him. He won’t be required but he will be vital to unlocking the next legendary.

This is by far one of the worst things scopely has done this year. Removing the free shield and not having 4 available is incredibly vile and removes all hope for F2P like myself for getting CB without coring the hell out of shuri and Hank Pym. It’s not a safe assumption that based on the number of shards we get from unlock and orbs from the various game points, we will be able to unlock CB.

Scopely set a goddamn standard for character release already. They change it constantly. Events wasn't good enough, the way the scourge work changed how many times. Stick with a release method already.

It's simple. If they screw this up, they will kill the game. Its already lost a boat load of players, they can't keep ticking people off with greed. You want to sell more characters, make them better all around characters with new mechanics, new abilities that people want to have right off.

Notice the only answered questions about spending on the game and did not address why they are so anti FTP with this character roll out. This post was nothing more than appeasing their spenders fears about what is to come. Also, speaking directly to scopley here, No one had a problem with the web claim. In fact removing it just proves how tone deaf they have been over this entire issue.

Assuming one get shafted on the shuri/hank pym shards, and gets 6 shards every orb. Total orbs to be opened to bring 1 char from 0 to 5 = (310/6) = 51-52 orbs. Total orbs for BP shuri & hankpym = 102-104 orbs Max total cores needed = 104* 675 = 70,200 cores F2P rejoice!!

Why they do this unnecessary shit like i just don't understand ? Is charging 60$ ( more than PC games like Elden ring ) price not enough for a character unlock ? How much more greedy can they be ? I thought game was going in right direction even having 5 rotation blitz event for his unlock would have been ok compare to just pay walling a character unlock. Even 1 star unlock would have been nice like zombie ironman and gambit for example.

Content creators need to spend, even if they'd prefer not to. They need to be able to make videos using these new characters or risk losing viewers to other channels. Take CB as an example. A F2P creator won't be able to make videos about him for at least 6 months after his release, or even longer, and by the time Captain Britain is available to most F2P players, there will be plenty of videos available from the non-F2P creators, so players will likely just look those up. So expect creators like MobileGamer, DorkyDad, and ValleyFlyin to spend, because that's their job. But they're not Krakens buying all offers, just those that they feel are reasonable or that are required to allow them to do their jobs and earn income.

Most likely a 3y Captain Britain will be "effective" at the lower difficulties and not usable in the higher ones, like OML. They must not want to say outright cuz the answer is bad.

Why the FUCK would i believe anything theyre saying? They said the LAST legendary would NOT NEED BOTH CABAL AND OOT AND GUESS WHAT... they both were required. They're gonna have a turn on CC rules, and yes, like you said, they could have a room full of OML and SuS that you absolutely cannot beat without him. So sure, they'll tune it so he's not "required"... but really actually necessary. So no changes.. Sunday I'm done. Giving my alliance time to replace me.. I saw a screenshot of a guy who spent 7000 cores on Shuri and did NOT get her to 5 stars... just to complete the utter horseshit that i heard. MG you're amazing! You and Dorky are my favorite CCs, and have even inspired me to be a CC, but that all ends unfortunately... ill miss my alliance mates the most... we are sweaty AF, but we hit hard and are usually top 50 for war with many F2P and some moderate spenders, but war strats are mainly mine as well as defense design. Sunday is my last day... ill keep watching the rest of the week in hopes that they change this... but i won't be holding my breath.

unless you get lucky those one shuri orbs are basically just ultimus credits. while I will crack some orbs with cores I have no expectation to be able to get both of the characters to 5y in time and missing out on an impactful character like captain britain just because I'm free to play sucks

It just means cap Britain will be usable in the lower unlock but will still need stars to be used in the harder difficulty to get the 5,6, 7 star unlock

Scopley is owned by a private equity firm. It's sole objective is to profit as much as it can, then sell it to someone else. Rinse and repeat. We need to organize a freeze week and show them we aren't happy. The game is good, but they are getting way too greedy, it's ridiculous.

At least when they said "If you don’t unlock CB now, there will be opportunities to earn some shards in the future", they plan to keep the game going and not dip after this event 😬

I think your interpretation of the Legendary release is wrong. What I think they mean is, you will be able to unlock new Legendary at 4s without CB with the shards on the milestones (by using the other Iluminati at Dif 8 ), but if you want 5s+ you definitelly will need CB at 5s+. This is a competition after all, and as long as some people have 5s+ CB you are fighting against them so you will need the same tools. No way someone with a 3s CB can compete against someone with a 7s CB.

Feels all the same to me - I'm F2P so we get what dregs of new stuff we can while maxing out or catching up on old stuff. Having said that, it's actually a lot of fun still at my level because the thrill of getting the next raid node cleared consistently or doing a bit better next time an event comes around is still there. I am enjoying the F2P challenge (and that's really what F2P is - it's like hard mode or nightmare mode in a game). I am having fun with it still.
