i got named after Devante, twin Trevante. My pops was uh Rapper/DJ & had bookoo equipment. I added a few keyboards & been making music since 2006. Birthday Jan 16 like Aaliyah & Sade'. I end up with urges to create & crazy ear for music. Im 30 now & listen to Jodeci projects paying attention to all these details his son displays. The pitch bend wheel is crazy. The harmony & basslines. Way ahead of its time far as quality. The originators were the Rodger Zapp era. I plan to add on to the style with a 2023-2025 touch.

Yes, Roger Troutman used a talk box, but first I was ever aware of it, came in 70’s, with Peter Frampton. Makes me old. A lot of rockers used it. Bon Jovi, Living On A Prayer… Joe Walsh, among many others. I love the talk box. That being said, I love Jodeci and Devante Swing. 90s R&B is the best. Devante’s son is quite talented. I really like this sound!!!

Started bobbing my head instantly!! I wasn't ready...for some reason I wasn't expecting for him to be this cold. I shouldn't have expected anything less tho.... Update: They must have re-uploaded the video or edited or something. My original comment was made towards a video that he was simply playing the beat. All of these cut scenes of him singing the Zapp style was not what I commented on. Less is more. It can be a lil distracting and takes way from the pure talent that was what all these comments were referring to & was originally displayed.
