How do I determine which wire is hot and which is not?

Use a multi meter to test which is hot usually white is hot black is ground or green is ground

Hey bro nice job, you forgot one thing, well 2 the swearing at the painters, and holding your tongue out to the left side instead of the right, makes the screw go right in!!! Them lights are bad azz!!!
