It's good for an open world, it's a very pretty game. It's the worst game by fromsoft I've played. I didn't enjoy any of the bosses as boss fights, they look very good but they weren't very fun to fight against. The exploration is boring, I don't like running on a horse for 30 minutes just to find a leaf or a summon I'm not going to use. At least some of the stuff looks cool
@hoangdung74942 жыл бұрын
@@theresnothinghereatall I think DS3 had some of the best bosses in the series, they are hard but not too hard and the flow of combat was just right. They're not constantly spamming abilities nor so passive that you have to play the waiting game. Pile ashes of war and inherent weapon arts on top of all that, and I'm just not sure how much more you wanted. Of course it's not 100% unique, but everything that's there is just as good looking as it was in previous FromSoft titles along with a pile of new stuff on top of it.

I’m a bit tired of seeing so many folks say “all Developer should strive for this level of detail“. I think that’s a poor way to look at video games as a form of art and expression. the only problems i have with variety is that supposed AAA games can be riddled with bugs and microtransactions even when you bought the game at the full $60. ill give indie games a pass since they usually only have a few people working on the game, but when you have a huge team there is no excuse.

It's always such a difficult conversation to get into talking about souls games and Elden Ring with people who don't play it, because it always jumps back to "it's hard", "it's difficult", or "it can be pretty challenging", but fundamentally it's its own sort of simplistic by learning its logic, but there's a colorful pallet of ways to go about it. Pretty much everything goes in the long run, but some little things are more effective than others by situation. Something neat is that even if you lack the torch for that fight, the developers made sure you could tell where they were by the water splashing, and making them more revealed on being hit. Then the reward for that particular boss was an item that also makes you more stealthy. All the little things you might think suck to have to endure, you are able to unleash also, and if you're not spec to use it you also get an option for respec or level to grow into it. I've done 3 palythroughs of Elden Ring so far just trying for different ending and different options.

If you don't give up you'll learn and play better ;) You can summon, you can have the help from another player(like the other games except sekiro).... And for me the way the difficulty is set up in a game made to be "tough" is not the same as a game were you have to push the diffculty bar in the options menu. I really like how they explain and discuss about stuff. The only thing I don't agree with is the idea that to fight the invisible assassin boss they said to put a note near the boss or something (like an NPC) near it, that's really not what the game is going for. The game is very open-ended outside of the main plot and it's completely fine to go do a boss, be mercilessly annihilated by it, give up, explore and come back later (even tens of hours later) when you're better levelled\equipped or came by the intel that helps beat the boss. It's also very jarring, I know it's a game but finding a boss and the mean to kill it so close is a bit cheap, which is why I also not really like how the devs put the Serpent-Killer Sword right next to the Rykard fight. I'd loved it more if the ghost NPC warned us about a place where we can find it. It'd have been even more of an adventure, like finding some relic that's specific to kill this one enemy but having to put some work for it rather than it just being there on the left of the boss room entrance (even though, they made it make sense lore-wise).

9:45 It's the exact opposite with Elden Ring. The main story doesn't give much gear or runes, if you don't explore side content you will find yourself hopelessly undergeared for the endgame.

Do you have the same good opinion about endgame bosses? Do you play with or without spirit summons?

I like this kind of thing. A game developer review some other games. Make more please

Yeah this games access to freedom is truly unsurpassed. Based on speedier runs and my experience with from software's games, i could probably beat the main story in less than 10 hours, but i logged over 100 before 1st completion due to exploring as much of the map as possible

A bit disappointed in the choice of gameplay footage. For a video that's supposed to explain the game design, they sure didn't show any of the well-designed areas of the game, the different playing styles with weapons/spells, any of the main dungeons, or how you can approach main areas from different directions, the environment story-telling, the many subtle "shows-don't-tell" design that supposes to teach players how to overcome a challenge. The commentary is awesome, but I feel like better footage could've to help better explain the design of the game better and why everybody is loving this game.

The downside to most of these videos is that the demo guy doesn't know what he's doing. He spent minutes circling around the same area without looking at the picturesque locations nor attempt any bosses.

I feel like if you are a developer and someone releases a game praised for its design, and for being a legendary, all time great game that maybe it would be in your best interest to play it?
