These observations seem highly relevant in the development of ADHD.

'Developmental Adaptations'. The conclusion. (Far out!!!) To me that literally explains my entire life. THANK YOU to Nim for her pursuit of knowledge ably assisted by all the other researchers whose contributions here has elucidated my own 'restless search' (my therapist told me I was doing this after 270 hours of sessions that had gone on for four years). This research has given my hope a shot in the arm. The conclusion suggests my belief in positivity after a full life of negativity exists in neurobiology form. I have lived for nearly 60 years with cronic depression due to an extremely violent father. As an adult I suffered body tremors and overwhelming fear. My mind would shut down. I have become an expert at self isolation. My own search is nearing its' conclusion.

What was peaked my curiosity is the NEG correlation to the functions of amygdala & mfPc from the onset of PUBERTY to adulthood which coincide with Phase2 of biological neuronal pruning that also occur as the brain is developing pFc decision-making. Back to the books...

really sympathize with your condition, what was your father diagnosed with? Who has the heart to make your life so miserable? Of course you have been in therapy for 4 years and it hasn't produced any results, of course it has cost a lot of money, hopefully you will quickly get a solution to cure your fear caused by your father who cruel, God bless you

He whom I now refer to as the coward, and all others like it died in 1990, but I unwittingly maintained its existence for another 30 years. Knowledge has freed me. I thrive on wise council such as, If it wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all. I've learnt and continue to seek the positives, be they crumbs, in my life for myself as opposed unwittingly to my usual subliminal modus operadi of slavishly following the dictates of a devil who made a comfortable perch for itself on my shoulders constantly feeding false/fake demands onto an undeveloped, uneducated precocious now wise individual.

Thank you for your knowledge. It is very interesting how it dovetails with autism. Which has a hyper fear response, hyper fear connectivity and resistant fear extinguishment. The importance of parental regulation for autistic individuals needs to be stressed rather than focusing on processing stimuli. Thanks again.

That is 100%correct. It is precisely why several of us in the field have been attempting to have clinical and educational based practice fundamentally change with the paradigm shift that begun in the mid 1990's (I am a devevopmental therapist/special educator , 20 yrs using DIR/Floortime based on Dev. Affective Neurosicence). It is one of the reasons I've created resource for both parents and professionals whose child or related family member has been diagnosed (or misdiagnosed) with ASD and related affect-sensory processing and social pragmatic communication/language based challenges. I recently begun, after request by many families here and abroad a DIR/Floortime FB site that provides over three solid decades of solid evidence- based treatment support which begun with the paradigm shift in Developmental Affect Neuroscience during the 1990's and explicitly supports non-behavioral Developmental based approaches, such as DIR/Floortime. This is not just limited to the field of autism per se but across many interelated fields with respect to how ALL (typical and non-neurotypical) children learn, grow, develop and thrive, from Infant and Childhood Mental Health, dyadic developmental therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Polyvagal Theory, dyadic developmental therapy, psychoanalysis, play therapy and family systems theory,, etc. facebook.com/groups/436689913681268/

One of the cruelest jokes nature played on humans is putting them in an adult body and the expectation that they can make adult decisions before their brain is fully developed

There must be some neurophysiological reason why we must torcher ourselves by living with our parents for so long 😂😂😂😂
