And it’s amazing when you gave examples from your personal life. I constantly worry if your son would complain someday if you never got his consent lol. Again, thank you!

There is reason I have not let him listen to these. Of course they were made before he was 18. Truth is that I have cleared every story with him. I had wanted to put in a few cute baby pic in earlier chapters, but he drew the line at that.

I’m Gen Z (college sophomore) and I completely see it, I LOVE exploring all cultures. I like getting to know and listening to people from all over, much more than I’m interested in my own ethnicity’s culture. There’s definitely more mixing in my generation and I love it. I also separate things. I’m English, Scottish, Irish, Welsh, French, Swedish, German, Native American, etc or I’m mostly Celtic/Viking/Frank with Choctaw, Saxon, Visi/Ostrogoth, Balari (some African/Lybian way back), and some Southern European peoples etc.

I just want to ask wouldn't it be dangerous to let a child watch a crime drama considering if the child has an anti-social tendency because he/she might be intrigued by how the police find difficulty catching the criminal?

There are several reasons that your question is reasonable but unanswerable. The primary reason is the generality of the word 'child'. Within psychology we must be specific to ensure that both the reader and speaker are thinking within the same criteria. For those who read this answer, what age is a 'child' in your brain? Moreover, is it a single year or a range? Is the person a male or a female? Did you define it based on biological status or a psychological status? The next issue would be what a 'crime drama' would be, and the level of violence demonstrated, discussed, or implied. I am not trying to avoid your question as much as it is not possible to answer specifically. What has been found is the higher the level of violence a person is exposed to, the higher the tolerance level for violence the person comes to accept. Meaning if you live a place where anti-social behavior is common, then viewing it on TV will not appear abnormal. Yet, if you live a location with low crime rate, viewing an even low level of crime (purse snatched) could influence an attitude.

Ohh is that so, then it will vary on the situation, gender and many other things . Thank you

@@NathaliePenaredondo-q8g Yes, those variables will be part of the criteria that need to be considered when examining the affects of a stimulus on an individuals behavioral reaction. You could also apply operant conditioning to this situation. Moreover, a tendency is not the same as an action. Several individuals I have met over the years who state they grew-up with anti-social tendency turned toward careers in crime prevention as they matured. Yet others have gone down the path and strengthened their beliefs, often sighting being with a social group that reflect these beliefs. FYI - Sociology studies have shown the power of your reference group when it come to anti-social behaviors.

I am sorry to read that. Psychology can be tricky to find the wright person. Like a medical field, there are many different types and specialists, finding the right one can be difficult. It took me 5 medical GP before I found the right one. Just as suggestions, look to see if your local university has a clinic, many do and professors can often fit with specific type of clients well. If you found my video helpful, they you might find this type of professional a better fit.
