In Maharashtra chaitra navratri is celebrated by keeping Annapurna Devi in a bowl filled with rice followed by Aarti flowers & We have to worship it till Akshay Tritiya & the goddess is known as Chaitra Gauri ,🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Yes sir. You can keep big idols provided you do regular abhishekam and offer daily naivedyam (like milk, fresh fruits, dry fruits etc) and do alankaram at all times.

Mam, I have 2 questions. 1) is it cumpulsory to read devi mahatmaye on all 9 days.instead of that,can I chant short stotrams of devi daily?(as I dont want to celebrate chaitra navratri in an elaborate manner because of my hectic schedule) 2)Is it necessary to keep kalasha(as I don't live in India and coconuts and mango leaves are not available in the place where I live.)

Sir, ideally yes, it is kind of mandatory to read sri devi mahatme book during navaratri. If you cant read it, please keep it next to devi and worship it during navaratri. For kalash, coconut is not mandatory. If you cannot find mango leaves, you can keep any other leaves in 3 or 5 numbers and worship. Just water and leaves in the kalash will do.

Yes maam. The first day and 10th day you can move the idol before the main arathi. It is not mandatory to celebrate navaratri. Sharada navaratri is the main navaratri in case you want to celebrate.

Not necessary to sleep on the floor but yes, you will have to follow bramhacharryam. Fasting is optional. If you want to fast, you will have to follow fasting the entire day and eat food only after the evening pooja. This will have to be done for 9 days.

No need to worry to keep shivling at home. You can worship shivling even during your periods after taking head bath. It is ok if you dont want to worship during those days also.
