I think it must have been lack of exposure. It certainly wasn't lack of talent. They are timeless. Still great to listen to 30 years later.

The sad part about Device is they never had a chance to get any traction. Great musicians, singers and song writers. A crying shame as they were much more talented than many bands that hit it big at that time.

There were too many bands like them at the time. They were competing against Animotion, Romeo's Daughter, Eurythmics and various bands produced by David Foster and Robert Mutt Lange.

I remember hearing the song Hanging on A heart Attack from Device in the mid 80's. As a young soldier getting station in West Germany I was always trying to keep up with them. Some of the best music came from the 80's and Device one of those bands who should have been top 20. 💝💝

I loved this song in the 80s. I just heard One of The Living from the Max Max Beyond Thunderdome movie and wanted to know who wrote it. Turns out Holly Knight is a very accomplished singer/songwriter. Not because she won a Grammy, but because she has written some good songs. I still live this song.
