Older People feel that way because we have a more reserved reverence for Nina Simone. You have to keep in mind we were raised differently than the younger generation and we held on to some of our parents teachings just like yall will too and there is nothing wrong with that. Honestly I was torn and didn't know how to feel about this performance when I first saw it. Part of me was like is this supposed to be this sensual...? The other part was like WOW this young woman is really coming into HER OWN and I'm so glad I get to witness her growth. Then I go back to but this is Nina Simone. I had to take a step back and I decided to sleep on it and find some reactions from young adults the next day (today). Yours was the first recommendations when I got on here this morning. Seeing you enjoy this performance.... I had my answer. What matters most is that fans of CHLOE enjoy this song. This is a young black woman on the RISE and our support is what's going to help her get to the top where she belongs. On another note have you ever heard the Original version? If not in your own time you should check it out. It would be nice for someone to do a reaction to a Nina perform the song live then do Chole's cover of just listening to the song then do the live version of Chole. That could be something you do in the future for any other cover you listen to on down the line. React to the original and the cover in the same video. I don't think I've seen anyone do that yet.

As a Gen X'er born 1970, I had no problem with CXH doing older songs because they actually do them justice. Unlike many others who ruin them, I believe that these two ladies love the music we grew up on and are introducing it to the youngins of today. When I saw this I was saying... "If Millie Jackson did this song, this is what we would see." I live for music and it keeps me SANE. The only time when their music isn't top notch is when other producers get in there and change the way they sing.
