She could have definitely sang it live, but the network could have dubbed it. This does tend to happen to some artists at certain shows. Christina Aguilera's feel this moment performance with pitbull at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards was the dubbed, even though in actuality she's saying it live because someone from the event posted a live video of the performance and she actually sang the whole thing live. So that could have happened.

It took me a while to realize it, but she hit a D6, and that's technically a whistle note. Very few people can belt notes that high, but she feathered it out, so yeah, she went to into the whistle register.

7:14 It's actually in the whistle range as far as notes but it's a falsetto because of the vocal chords that are being used. If she was using only the back vocal chords then it would be a whistle

She could have most definitely have Sang her Soul Nation performance of feeling good live. Sometimes certain shows and broadcast Dub performances. This happened to Christina Aguilera at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards where she performed her hit single feel this moment with Pitbull. The Billboard Music Awards dubbed her performance, but she actually sang the whole thing live, as someone who was at the actual venue, recorded (and uploaded it)the performance and she actually sang it live. So it's a possibility that she did sing it live and they just dubbed it for whatever reason.

She actually sang that high part in head voice. Falsetto is more Airy and thin, her note was very full, and from my understanding it had resonance. Falsetto is also considered to be disconnected from your range, her notes were definitely connected. But you were right, a couple notes higher and she would have been in whistle register. But it's also been said that depending on how you sing a note, you can actually hit that exact note in that range in whistle register as well.

the reason I still feel like she didn't lip sync the first performance is because it was edited for tv.. I think she sung it , but they edited and added her audio to the video so it could be mix and master for abc..but I think she did initially perform it live

This one isn't live either. She pre-recorded this one too. But I don't care. She sounds amazing and we know she can do this live without even blinking twice. But I think she pre-recorded this with GMA's live stage equipment to make it sound more authentic. She does this during sound check. Beyonce does the same thing on tour and makes sure that there is no sound quality differences between the pre-recorded vocals and the ones she does live. This allows her to have pre-recorded sections mixed with live vocal sections with no audible difference to the audience. Undetectable Lip Synching is a talent in itself. And Chloe is being trained well.

I counted at least 3 times where her shoulders didn’t match the breath she takes, even her lips didn’t fully match the lyrics and they cut to Times Square. Then when it was back on her, her lips matched again. Use your eyes, not your ears. Like I said, she probably sang it full out in sound check while they were preparing for this performance and they used the vocals she recorded that day. But it wasn’t done I’m real time.
