Hi Dan I have the DFPPROF2: 2 door, 2 burner. I bought it last year through your recommendation. Couldn't be more thrilled. I only drag it out for my long blades, Bowies, I use my small home made forge for my normal sized blades, up to 10". I do see that it's now about $40.00 cheaper than when I bought mine, no matter, I'm still thrilled! Here's my comment. When you try to "shove the hose onto those Barb fittings, take a little dish detergent ( Dove or Palmolive, something like that) and a Q-tip with the Q-tip put some dish soap about 1/4" up inside the hose and around the opening, THEN push the hose on. You'll find it goes on much more easily. I learned that from working in the bottled gas industry. NEVER use oil, especially if you're fitting a hose to an Oxygen regulator!! I hope this helps someone? Forge ahead, stay safe. God bless: Stoney (Dave)

Thanks for sharing that Mr. Berg; I can't believe I hadn't thought of the economy bypass. I'm an HVAC guy and worked around redundant water pumps with bypasses. I always thought dang were wasting alot of gas while were at the anvil pounding away and the forge is blasting at full throttle. Brilliant

The "economy bypass" is more commonly known as an idle circuit. Devil-Forge didn't invent it on gas forges.

They seem to confuse ridgidiser and castable. The first soaks in and stiffens the insulation. The second is a coating on top that sets hard.

@DIYeasycrafts Thanks for this vid, I ended up purchasing this exact one on the back of your video. Question for you though, are you still using it, and did it have a really strong smell after you used it early on? Mine emits an awful smell after running for about 10 minutes and trying to figure out if anyone else has experienced the same.

Thanks for the redirect to here. I'm a little jealous but not enough so to toss aside my year old $400 forge for this new feature. 🙂 I do wish I could convert from the 9mm hose they provide to a metal-wrapped RV propane line since I melted mine so easily coming off the top as it does. That said, it gave me a chance to find out that Devil Forge has Great customer service as they are shipping me a new one for just the cost of FedEx shipping. They'd have sent it for free if I had been willing to wait for it. With the new one and a spring at the top, I'm pretty sure not to melt the new one.

Great video, nice review of product...what material do you have the forge sitting on? Is that cement board?
@DIYeasycrafts5 жыл бұрын
Yes I added a pc of Hardie Board on top of the bbq stand. Thanks

I have seen you review a few of the Devils Forge products, have you had any over a year and how have they stood up to use? Thank you

Yes over two years, gave to my friend and still in use

Well, I bought one. The included material they call a rigidizer is NOT a rigidizer. It is a castable cement. It also doesn't do a very good job in this forge. After it dries the fiber just has a film of castable cement over it and it does NOT strengthen the ceramic fiber. In fact it adds weight to the fiber in the roof of the forge and makes it sag a little in the middle; it's going to sag worse over time. I would recommend anyone setting this forge up to use a real rigidizer like Mr. Volcano red liquid and then apply the castable material over it. If I ever have to replace the fiber I'll definitely be going with the two step rigidizer/castable technique.This seems like a nice forge and I think it's going to do a good job but there are several negative design issues.

@robertkoontz78655 жыл бұрын
@@Peter-od7op I love it ! I plan on implementing it into my "Hemp Adobe Forge" yep you herd it here first.

Its actually a substantial upgrade from the economy model you refered to. The forge is heavier gauge steel, has fire brick for better insulation, front and back doors, a tool rest, copper and stainless fuel lines and the bypass.Having said that the basic unit will also do the job
@wolfeatsheep3586 Жыл бұрын
For that price it should have the stainless braided hose!
