Based on this review, I bought the 3-burner Devil Forge and have just fired it up for the first time. only have one thing to add: there is a right way and wrong way to put the burners in. Initially, I had the gas supply at the back, so I had to turn it around. THANK YOU FOR YOUR REVIEW

DIY Thank you for this video. I just got the 2 burner version with one door about 4 days ago, looks great. I haven't had the chance to fire it up yet, too damp to mess with the rigidizer right now. I'm certain it will be MORE than adequate for my needs. Keep the videos coming. Never a disappointment. God bless: Stoney

I am looking to make some Damascus knife and ax and some small decretive tools for grilling and fire place will it be better to have a 3 burner or will a 2 burner do it well
@rabjustus2 жыл бұрын
also do i need doors
@DIYeasycrafts2 жыл бұрын
all you need is the two burner. the third burner is really just for longer blades. I have it but rarely use it. You could get away without doors by just covering the openings with fire brick. Doors are much easier

Left-hand thread? I think your video was reversed, and during your voiceover you just kept saying left because you saw your hand turning left. It's very clearly (normal) right-hand thread. Very few things are reverse (left-hand) threaded, VW axle nuts being one of them.

Nope its left handed. Think about it. Its an adaptor both sides cant be right handed.

These Devil Forges are awful. They are cheaply made and the insulation is marginable. The kaowool must be covered with refractory cement. The refractory cement quickly bubbles and cracks due to the heat which allows the kaowool to burn and is extremely dangerous to your lungs. The regulator is cheap and the guage did not work out of the box. I bought the double burner Devil Forge and have had nothing but issues with it. After two uses I ended up throwing the forge in the trash and building my own out of firebrick.

you seem to be quite unlucky with your forge. sure you mixed the refractory right and let it dry properly? I have used a devil forge for close to a year without any bubbling in the refractory or damage to the kaowool. regulator worked fine aswell the insulation is a bit thin but for a farriers forge they work quite nicely.

@@lennarth2018Im positive that I mix the refractory cement correctly. Your regulator may worked but the one I received did not.

@@Tracer414 hm thats shit. they seem to have some quality control issues then. have you tried contacting them about it?

I am sorry, but have to disagree with your statement. Kaowool is pretty much an industry standard for insulation for high temperature operations as a simple google or bing search will confirm if you are curious. We are new to the forging world but after following the instructions provided with the unit we fired it up and didn't get a single "bubble" or crack on the kwowool. And that was after several uses. The regulator was a solid brass unit, as one would expect, and the flame was consistent for the position and pressure reading regardless of how many times we shut the valve on and off. I suppose it must be nice to be able to throw out several hundred dollars of value after you had an issue with the unit. I am curious, when you contacted the manufacturer regarding your experience, did they not replace the faulty regulator and/or refractory compound? Because those are hardly the expensive components for this forge and the customer service I have received was excellent when I have had questions for them. The overall build quality for what we received on the 3 burner was top notch with no funky welds, pinched lines, etc. Lastly, if you didn't want to use the kaowool, you simply could have used the box, forge burners, and then lined it with firebrick. There is more than enough space inside the unit for that. And if you simply wanted a brick oven, you could have at least reused the burners themselves unless those also had issues.
