Don't know if anybody told you this already, but the better you do in combat, the more of the song you hear D-B - one of the two verses plays A - buildup starts S-SSS - chorus

For those that don't know, the reason "Devil May Cry" was written on the van at 14:14 is because it's the in-universe name of Dante's mercenary (demon hunting) business and Nero is now part of that business (I'm not sure if he completely took over or if the brand is branching out). On that note, the older black gentleman at 1:41, Morrison, is the one that would actually find clients for Dante, cause he sure as hell ain't gonna do it himself. The origin of the name was explained in DMC3. Quite touching, actually (also, spoilers): At the end of the game, after Vergil stayed behind in the demon world, with no way back (so effectively dead), Dante's understandably sad about it. Lady (5:40) is with him at the time and the conversation is as follows: L: Are you crying? D: It's only the rain. L: The rain already stopped. D: Devils never cry. L: I see. Maybe somewhere out there even a *devil may cry* when he loses a loved one. Don't you think? D: Maybe. The amusing thing is that in DMC1 the phrase "devils never cry" was used to encourage Trish (5:41) - a demon made by the now dead demon king Mundus in the likeness of Dante's mother to lure him into a trap. Trish goes through a redemption arc and the line that finalizes it is "Trish, devils never cry. These tears? Tears are a gift only humans have." And then we see that the shop was renamed into Devil Never Cry (it bothers me to this day, that there's no "S" at the end of "Devil"). But it seems that the name change is either non-canon or temporary, because in DMC4, which takes place after DMC1, it once again says "May". The "father" mentioned at 10:46 is Agnus, one of the main antagonists from DMC4. Agnus wasn't the one in charge of the whole thing, but he was the head researcher so most, if not all, of the bad stuff that happened (i.e. animated swords/armors, artificial demon gates, human-demon hybrids, etc.) was a direct result of his work.

Watching your play is so telling. When you’re feeling the tempo and even singing along you actively play better too and your style points go up, which in turn dynamically shifts the music up and then you go with it haha This is going to be a fun romp I can already tell. There’s certain parts I can’t wait to see you get to where the music and the game just blend so beautifully.

Now i wanna replay. Love this franchise, man! Nero has so much growth in this game! One thing to note, since DMC 4, the music gets stronger the better your rank. And, since dmc3, the choreography has been done both in person and with miniatures to try and make everything feel as real as possible. Love the stylish visceral cutscenes. Also, everyone sucks on their first few hours of DMC. Keep rockin'! Best people have guessed, Redgrave is either on a coast, or near a large lake in the States. I know I'm not watching a live stream, but i still catch myself screaming like I'm watching my streamer brother. The red clumps scattered around give you more red orbs

It's nice that DMC games incorporate fighting techniques you can do in game to cutscenes. It bridges the two together. It's not like cutscene characters and game characters operate under different rules.

Hello. Im glad to see you play this game. A few tips: -Pay attention to the environment. There are a lot of red orbs scattered around the stage (and believe me you'll appreciate having a lot of them so you can improve your abilities and make more combos). -An easy way to improve your score (and by the way get more orbs at the end of each mission) is by making combos that combine different types of weapons (example: shoot an enemy, approach it with the cable and then use the sword). Of course, how and when to use/switch from one weapon to another depends on the moment, but in general it's useful to make a switch from time to time. -And speaking of linking combos, when using Nero the pistol will be your best friend, as you can get a couple of shots while getting close enough to the next enemy to jumpstart the combo you had with the old enemy into the new one (great when you defeat one and you're some distance from the next one). -Finally, and most important of all when making combos: "Enjoy it!!! ^^" There is no ideal pattern, so the most memorable combos will be those that you perform as you go. Regards ^^

Now I'm motivated! Let's hope you don't end up as dead weight! 0:52 I see you didn't check out the previous episode recaps. It's not complete but it does offer at least some insight if this is your first game in the franchise. 2:21 It's everyone's favorite soft femboy/softboy! BTW don't listen to V's theme, it will spoil the game's big reveal. No, seriously, it will. 5:39 Urination, he's new 5:40 Lady, she's from DMC3. She's a demon hunter who is now Dante's ally. 5:41 Trish, she's from DMC1. She's a demon made by the demon king Mundus to be an almost exact clone of Dante's mother and trick Dante into going to the island where Mundus lived. She had a change of heart and is now Dante's ally. 6:23 Don't worry, you're supposed to loose this one. I mean you CAN win it but not in a new game. 8:03 Nero will remember that 12:09 BEHOLD! THE GREATEST OPENING CREDIT SCENE KNOWN TO MAN! And yes, this is Nero's theme. 15:17 So this is Nero's gimmick for this game: Robotic arms. There's plenty of them and each have their own special functions. Don't worry about your ranks too much, just have fun with it! 29:57 Ok so every stage has these so be on the lookout for them. By the end of this game you're either going to be sick of everyone's theme songs or you'l know all the lyrics by heart.

This was a genuine joy to watch through, you musical knowledge mixed with the gameplay and editing made sure there was never a dull moment. Not sure how long ago this was recorded so you've probably figured most of this out, but here's a few tips to help you through. Firstly, jumping gives you invincibility until you reach your peak. It's a good way to avoid damage, but dodging to the side has similar invincibility but is a little tighter. Your guns aren't the best at dealing damage, but they're good ways of keeping your style up or managing enemies. Enemies won't attack you if they're off screen. If you're in a tight spot, you can adjust the camera to give yourself a chance to refocus a bit. If you press taunt in the air, you get a unique taunt. Even if taunting might not help at the time, they can keep you in the air a little longer, and Nero's in particular acts as a pseudo double jump. And a slight personal one from me, I feel Dante's theme in particular isn't very fitting for his character with how it tries to represent him, and might have been incorrectly written for the reboot incarnation of Dante (though it's not 100% confirmed). In all likelihood you'll probably be fine with it but if you want a more genuine interpretation of Dante's character I'd recommend you keep Devils Never Cry in mind for who he is as a person rather than what Subhuman presents him as.
@MarcoMeatball Жыл бұрын
Oh interesting I really liked subhuman!
@casiooooooo Жыл бұрын
Subhuman presents him as a devil embracing his humanity and suppressing the maliciousness within so I think it describes Dante perfectly
@firerath Жыл бұрын
It feels like a character regression to how he was at the start of DMC3. Dante already embraced his demon side and never once felt like he could lose control of himself. Dante isn't someone that hates demonkind (with the sole exception of Mundus) or struggles with some sort of evil within himself, so if subhuman is to be believed then over 20 years of character development has been undone and then made worse than before.

Read a steam review saying "stop reading reviews and play it, there are two people in this world those who played DMC5 and loved it and those who missed out." he was so right. Also apologies in advanced for your finger's medical bills. Once you realize you need to hold down like 4 buttons at once to play Nero your brain sorta melts but you keep telling yourself your okay because of the cool music and combos you can do. Word of advice, play around with controller layouts.

As a fan of the series, i fill obligated to clarifay one of the main mechanics for Nero. If you press LT in specific timing after attack, this will charge up Nero's sword and make next attack faster and deal more damage. And you can chain this revs as long as you get the timing right. You can also charge up the sword out of combat by pressing LT multiple times, untill you get full charge

This is so weird in so many ways. ^^ First: When you know the manga, accompanying this game, and thus know the whole backstory from V, that unfortunately is not shown in the game, than it is so weird watching V, kind of without any context. (The manga explains really a lot. why he is there, why he wears that funny clothes. why he travels with those animals and so on) Second: Watching you, playing DMC5, but wothout knowing DMC3 and 4 is funny too. All the cool characters are here, and you are like: "who the hell is this?" :D I hope you keep playing. Also I reccoment DMC3 A LOT !

Ok This Is my Terrain! Be ready for an unnecessarily Long comment - The DMC 5 Menu Theme Is actually a recreation of a classic Capcom Jingle that sounds in many classic Games, you can find It as "Capcom SNES Logo Intro" on YT - The first Theme with the violin and the organ is called "The Qliphoth" - And even if i'm you will get It later on the videos, the leitmotif of This game spreads through many Themes in Very Different ways, i love the variety - Enjoy the wha- - "Dance Macabre." Aka Best move in the series - Those ladies are Trish and... Lady, yeah. SPOILERS Trish is the co-protagonist from DMC 1, a demon that resembles Dante's Mother and was Created by the Demon Emperor Mundus, the same that Killed Dante's Mother. She was Created to lure Dante into a Trap in a place called "Mallet Island", to kill him. Trish tried to kill Dante, but Dante saved her at some Point due to her have the look of her Mother. After defeating Mundus, Trish escapes alongside Dante from the Island, and they became some kind of partners fighting demons A lil' bit about Dante Dante Is the son of the legendary Dark Knight Sparda, a demon who revealed against It's own kind to protect humanity, and His Mother was called Eva, a human. Dante also had a brother; Vergil. Dante has a demon hunting Business called "Devil May Cry", and even if he Works for money, at the end Is just a facade to protect humanity, It Is known that Dante sometimes takes jobs Without charging it's customer. And now Lady Lady Is a human, but His father, Arkham, was someone who sacrificed His own wife (Lady's mom) to get demonic power, Lady (Originally called Mary) became a Demon Hunter specialized on Heavy Artillery and Handguns just to hunt Arkham, who alongside Dante's brother, unleashed a Legendary demonic tower called "The Temen-ni-gru.", Which was the entrance to the Underworld where Sparda sealed it's power in the form of a Sword Lady was a rival for Dante, kind of, but at the end of the day, and after both losing a beloved one (Arkham and Vergil) they became good friends Also Dante owes her a lot of money heheheh- There's a video about DMC's history in the game itself - And the protagonist that you're Using; Nero Btw you can Win during the prologue Nero was part of a religious group of royal knights called "The Order of the Sword", a group that, even when he didn't followed their beliefs, was a religion who worships Sparda as a God, but Also their leader, Sanctus, wanted to rule the World as a God. Nero has demonic power too, he and Dante stopped their plans, and in this Story, Nero found the Yamato, the Sword that used Dante's brother, and he Let Nero keep the Sword after that, It was in good hands- O H Ok let's move - That Sword that Dante lost was the Sword that he used since the second game; Rebellion, one of the most iconic swords in the series - "How It feels to rescue the Man who Killed your father?" Nico, the lady in the van Is the daughter of Agnus, the Order of the sword's Alchemist / scientist, a character from the 4th game. And at the same Time, Nico's gradmother was called Neil Goldstein, the woman who Created Dante's handguns in a prequel novel from the first game, and This detail was revealed first in DMC 5 Novel "Before the Nightmare" - Devil Trigger Is an Anthem for the series, 11 Y E A R S of waiting for This game, AND IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT - The version that sounds during the Mission one Is called "Devil Trigger - Devil shocker Remix" if i'm not wrong - The Soldier Boy / Crewcut boy Is voiced by Patrick Seitz aka Scorpion from MK, he voiced the History Of DMC for the official YT channel - Try to rev your sword after every swing / attack, the Rev thing Is the Special Gimmick of Nero's Red Queen Sword, you can Boost your attacks' power hitting the correct timing - Again, Yamato Is Dante's brother's Sword, a Sword capable of separarte Light and Darkness, handled by Dante's father in the past, and the one that he got in the 4th game - Nero's arm looked like that because that was where his demonic power emerged after a demon incident, that arm was calld the Devil Bringer, and was His source of power. More character info :^) - Morrison Is a good friend, and the Man who gives job to Dante, and a character with a good Spotlight in the anime - Nico's Theme is wonderful. And One of my favorites, and, not right now, but please compare the tropical remixes of Devil Trigger and Any Special orders (That's the name of Nico's Theme) - Technically, in-game This place Is called "Redgrave City." Yeah, Redgrave, like Tony Redgrave - DMC 5 was the first game in the series that used dynamic music, the better you Play, you Will reach the "Boom" part of the music. - There's 12 secret missions through the game. Every single one of them gives you a Blue Orb, There's also hidden Blue orbs through the game, you need 4 to extend your Health bar, in the part with the hole on the Floor there was a Blue Orb - During Development, they considered the van a character by itself. They also called her "Van-Chan", you Will ove every entrance BUT DON'T LEAVE IT AT THAT POIIIINT Ok i love This, hope to see More in the near future! Love you Marco.

So DMC always has a move where you dash towards an enemy and attack. It's a very powerful and basic move (I think Nero's is called Streak) and for some reason you always have to buy it. It gives you a ton of mobility in combat and avoids those situations where you're swinging just little too far away from the enemy.
@xenowarrior282 Жыл бұрын
Nero has better solution to that problem which is to pull the enemy closer with Snatch. If you keep using Streak, you run into the Dante problem of using Stinger to get closer, but then it sends the enemy away in the process.

Knowledge trivia on the name Qliphoth (correct me if i'm wrong on some things, i'm writing this down based on memory) : In the Kabbalah, or Jewish mysticism, there is this... system of interconnected concepts that, to my understanding, is like the engine of existence itself: Mystical emanations that bring forth existence as we know it, originating from the Lord-- and which in turn, keeps it so that virtue exists. A kind of Perpetuum Mobile of virtue and goodness. The concepts in question are known as the Sefirot/Sephiroth, and are oft represented in a schematic or diagram referred to as the "Tree of Life". If i remember correctly, all of the Sefirot are positive aspects of humanity and represent different things: Masculinity, Feminininty, Creativity, Strength, Wisdom, sometimes a mix of things. And I *think* I remember reading somewhere that for humans to grow closer to Divinity and true goodness, they have kind of personal spiritual roads to "climb up" the Sefirot as it were. On the opposite end of the Sefirot, are Qliphoth-- opposites of the virtues and positivity that bring forth existence and keep the mortal being tethered to negativity and suffering. Nidhogg is a name one might be more familiar with, especially more recently thanks to GoW: Ragnarok. Nidhögg is a dragon that gnaws on the roots of the World Tree from Nordic mythology-- so in terms of mythological theme naming and connections, it's a pretty perfect name for a parasite that gnaws on legendary tree matter. I sadly don't know what Antenora means, nor what the name idea behind the Caina was-- most direct association I can make is with Cain, the First Murderer. Which would probably check out. The Caina seem to be a variant of the Seven Hells enemies from DMC3, though I don't know if those were wearing a spiked/thorn crow as well. Considering they're wielding scythes, my mind made an association with Dante from the game Dante's Inferno. (Which, fun fact, as the name suggests is loosely based on the Divine Comedy, which DMC also takes various themes and character names from-- but the gameplay is much more like GoW, which came out after DMC. Interesting how things can loop back on themselves like this.) I am in NO WAY an authority on this field, and my words here are just my understanding of it. The Kabbalah, Sefirot and Qliphot are very complex things and I guarantee to you that I have misinterpreted some things. So, I recommend to anyone reading this, if this subject has caught their interest: Do your own research, and be critical of, and compare, sources. Also Empusa's some kind of Greek vampiric hag or summin'. I believe she had claws made of copper. And Urizen is a name from one of the works of a writer by name of... William Blake, I believe. I know next to *nothing* about that feller's works, other than that V keeps reading from one of his books. Vaguest thing that I think I remember, is that Urizen is part of a certain group of people -siblings, perhaps- and Urizen has some associations with notions of power and/or strength. *DISCLAIMER that i've repeated a few times before: I could be unintentionally Bovinely Manuring about this info, based on very vague memories and recollections, from times when I just came across certain pieces of info and did more research on it-- but haven't professionally or academically researched. More so for fun. Which is also why I write this comment, and perhaps more unless asked not to do so anymore. I find it fun to share this knowledge and hope that others may find it interesting as well. Wish you fun on the rest of the playthrough!

Is this your first DMC game that you played? I highly recommend the other games as well (stay clear of the offshoot though). Don't worry about your skills, you will definitely get better with time. DMC 5's combat is very fluid and fun so just enjoy it. :)

dont sweat it too much this game and its combo system takes time to learn and its the first two missions. the more you play the better youll be. also there is an auto assist setting if you want the extra help. i believe you activate and deactivate it holding either the left OR thr right joystick down cant remember which one it is exactly though. regardless this is a very fun game so dont worry about doing good and just have fun.

All DMC games have great soundtracks but this one absolutely blows the rest of the series out of the water! I listen to this soundtrack ALL THE TIME and I've adopted Nero's song for my own. It's got very strong trans energy! Watching you play is a delight, I love watching people play this game for the first time XD

All I know about DMC is that the games are really hard, so… uh. This is going to be interesting in a whole lot of ways, isn’t it?

The different combos are done by delaying certain parts of the sequence. You do have to unlock some of them though. It’s a pretty normal thing to not pick up on though

I certainly hope you'll manage to get your style high enough to actually hear most of the music.

I think you can activate the easy combos option in the settings, some people have more fun with that

Definitely use your grab ability for better combos, and to clear the distance between you and an enemy faster

If you wanna enjoy the game and the music at the same time without too much effort splitting your brain. Just turn on auto combos. It'll show you all the fancy stuff in the game without you having to try extra hard.

Well since everyone here just cheering, im gonna give you some of my own thoughts. 1. To rev the sword you need to find the timing after any(or every one) attack (s) of the Red Queen. All attacks have a lil but different timing. 2. If you REALLY not good at slashers devs made auto - assist mode, i would not recommend it, but hey im not the Judge. 3. Double jump is essential IMHO, cas it gives you more opportunities to evade attacks or being more airborne. 4. To use your "robot arms" you need to not hold the lock-on button and only then you could use you buster arm. Well for a starter tips i think those 4 are decent enough. Удачи друже
