I like how after everything there is in the game (bad words, naked women, hack and slash, self injuring like stabbing yourself with swords, killing innocents, leaving your son without child support), the one thing Capcom is worried about is the smoking of Nico.

Reckless driving, giving weapons to a handicap without a permit (ex-handicap), stabbing yourself, jumping out of a moving vehicle on multiple occasions, kidnapping two ladies, not going to a girl's 18th birthday party, not paying your bills or child support, public indecency (not their faults), getting into a fight with a horse, a chicken, a oversized cat, and a literal nightmare, getting bitch slapped, flipping your father off while saying 'fu** you', reading poetry during a fight, throwing insults..... constantly, destroying your friend's works of art, and last and probably not the last thing on this list is smoking. I love how bitter he gets at the comment despite him probably being the strongest out of the three. Even with no devil bringer or DT and with only the breakers he gets further in the fight with urizen than Dante did before getting his sin DT. Also i think trish explains that demon power is fueled by human blood hence the big old blood harvesting trees throughout the game so Nero's 75% human blood might actually power up his demon abilities more than Dante or Vergil's 50%. I see it like Dante and Vergil have more abilities because they are more demon than Nero but with Nero being more human and with proper MOTIVATION I think Nero has the most power in terms of raw strength where Vergil and Dante are more versatile. Also he's like the only sane sparda kid given he has to be his uncle and father's own damn parental figure by the end of this game literally pulling them away from one another and scolding them when they bicker.

Despite being the grandson of Sparda, Nero is still mostly human. He could only access significant power through external means such as the Devil buster and Yamato. His entire story in DMC5 is about pushing himself beyond his human limits, resulting in him getting his own Devil Trigger that can overcome both his father and uncle ( despite the fact that both Vergil and Dante are both powered up over the course of the story)

But to go into greater detail: There's a specific word for "older brother" in Japanese that Dante has been using for Vergil, and in game booklets and such, it has been revealed that Vergil is older than Dante. Plus, in DMC3 Dante tells Vergil: "How about a kiss from your little brother? Or better yet, how about a kiss from this?" when pointing his weapon at Vergil. V also refers to Vergil as the older brother in this game, though it is brief.

The issue was not their fighting but them killing each other. Vergil's ambition to defeat Dante became so nutorious that he became fine with destroying everything for that goal, forcing Dante to kill Vergil to put a stop to it. But after Vergil had his little identity crisis during the time he was separated and then getting beaten up by Nero, what proved that true strenth cannot be aquired by just sucking on bloog and swords, he became much more timid, to a point where there death was not a necassity anymore.

Nero is a nice boy, just like Dante and Vergil would have been without their circumstances. I hated him in 4 way back when, I thought they were pulling a MGS 2 or Halo 2 and replacing a beloved main character randomly. But he "grew up", something Dante and Vergil never did, and was the "adult in the room" to end their blood feud. Basically the best ending you could hope for.

She knew the role she was given to by Mundus, which was to lure Dante to Mallet Island and to gain his trust just by physically resembling his mother. V also seems to be completely aware of Vergil's time as Nelo Angelo as well given the fact his familiars are spawns of Vergil's time as Nelo Angelo and carries those memories.

Trish and V's confession scene is probably the biggest character development Vergil has had. V confiding to Trish about the horrific actions his true self has committed to only get a response from Trish that is a HUGE nod back to DMC1 and who Trish herself is. Basically telling Vergil's human half to think for himself as she is in no way of giving him advice nor will she tell him what he wants to hear for the sake of consoling him just because. A very strong scene.

Now that his arm is lost, he felt powerless. Being told dead weight is a HUGE stab in his heart. Especially when it was a fight against the person who chop of his arm. It make him feel worthless and powerless to even fight against the person that basically destroyed him.

Rewatching this, I love the little detail near the beginning- look at V at 4:58, look at that face he makes at the sinking realization of "Oh fck, Dante lost" and being utterly confused and lost as to what to do now, just standing there for a moment, before Dante's words sink in and he remembers Nero was there as well, his focus instantly switching to worry about Nero because now he only has him to relay on beating Urizen, he's the only one he can count in.
