@@truekurayami there's also that one official art of Bayo kicking the ass of someone at strip poker... the guy's mostly off-screen, but one of his removed pieces of clothing is a long red cloak draped over one of the other chairs at the table also, one of the summons Bayo has in this game is just Phantom (the armored spider/scorpion boss from DMC1)... who just happens to be the only DMC1 boss that doesn't appear in DMCV (Griffon, Shadow, and Nightmare are V's summons, and Nelo Angelo has enemies that are basically just like him)

Here's an important tip to continue your combos while dodging: it's called dodge offset. just keep holding the currently pressed button during a combo while dodging, and you will not reset the combo. pretty important for killing angels with style

I am of the opinion that the tutorial is misleading! With the exception of a few weapons one should ALWAYS hold down the attack buttons, not only for long range. Makes it easier to not only avoid wildly button mashing but also to do dodge offsets whenever needed. I wish more hack and slash games had this system or something like it, I am most definitely guilty of overreaching…

Did not expect. Also I have no idea why people say the story is bad. I'd say it's actually really good for the type of game it is. Same for Bayonetta 2's story (even better with how it actually adds to Bayo 1's story too and with how consistent they are). The lore is excellent as well, better than any character action game. Also fun fact is that the f***ed up way the angels look in this game... is actually one of the most accurate depictions of them in popular fiction. Yes, real angels are meant to look like that.

Oh, and another detail, Dee, there's hidden collectibles in the levels. Those CD's help you get new equipment. Some are hidden higher up. And there's also collectibles for increasing your mana and health. But you have to find those the hard way.

Hello!!!! Some tips from someone who loves this game. Holding square to shoot is bad, instead you should be holding your punch or kick mid-combo to fire your gun so you can then continue the combo with extra damage from the bullets. Bullets from holding P or K do way more damage, and have more range, and lock on better. You can shoot out of ANY PUNCH OR KICK, and it doesn’t reset your combo. This will get you way better ranks because you won’t be dropping overall combos in fights since you can fight at longer range. BUY BAT WITHIN AS SOON AS IT IS AVAILABLE. Bat Within basically allows you to tank hits if you’re skilled enough to tap evade on hit instead of just before, giving you a second chance to survive.

It's odd to have a collaboration when the original developers of DMC are what Platinum games is today. Just take a look at the panther motion capture animation and it matches Okami 1:1 ratio. Kamiya was the original director of DMC and doing a DMC would have to be a contracted out work from Capcom.

The four together, as a set, are Scarborough Fair, yes like the song, and each has a separate name written and can be told apart by their accenting color. Parsely is Green, Sage is Red, Rosemary is blue, and Thyme is white. This follows with Bayonetta 2 as well which is a Nintendo Exclusive now, but for her set in THAT game, the setup for the intro is kind of the same. Stuck with bad handguns until Rodin comes along with her set for the game, which is Love is Blue in the second game.

Here's some tips since Bayonetta is VERY unforgiving. Expect a QTE in like, any cutscene, or when a cutscene starts pause for a moment, if you see the option to skip is available, there will be a QTE, if the option is gone, QTE. As you can see, enemies WILL begin to attack during cutscenes so you have to constantly dodge the moment it ends. If you enter your Combo list, it looks absurdly bloated, but there are some that helps quite a lot more, namely Punch-Kick-Punch, which is the fastest Wicked Weave (When Bayo summons a big Fist/Leg), or Punch-Punch-Triple Kick for tons of damage. If you are attacked mid combo, if you keep holding the attack button that you were using and dodge with it held, you can continue your string after a dodge, this is called Dodge Offset.

Not really, maybe graphic wise but Bayo1 has certain mechanics where its better treated as a 'alternative' to go back to from time to time than a prequel. For instance, the 'taunt offset' is removed in 2, and gameplay is more reliant on Umbran Climax, Witch Time is shorter. Its really up to debate which on is better on a more advanced play style. But casually Bayo2 is better.

@@salvadorgalvan3164 I respectfully disagree. I went up to Platinum in the hardest difficulty, back in the WiiU days and I feel that Bayo2 blows 1 out of the water. I also started counting the hits of the enemies required to kill Bayo in identical situations in both games. In Bayo 2 the frequency of the enemy attacks is higher and the hits required to bring you down are less than in 1. Bayo 2 also has better mix of enemies at the same time, effectively leading to cooler combos and less combo breaks that happen because of the enemies' distance to you or their form (shields, etc). When you break a combo in Bayo 2 it is clearly your fault, while in Bayo1, it usually is the game's fault (enemies fall back, no enemies in the air while you unlock the aerial attacks very early so you go in the air too often, exclusively shielded enemies in the arena, etc...). These things don't happen in Bayo 2. It is a far more streamlined game in every aspect. And the camera... Oh God, the camera in Bayo 1 has autism or something!

If you love Bayonetta and Devil May Cry, I highly recommend these titles if you haven't already played through them. Ninja Gaiden, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Dante's Inferno, and even though it's slightly different I think you'd enjoy Viewtiful Joe, especially since once you beat the game on Normal you unlock Dante as a playable character.
