At the age of 5, I remember sneaking into my cousin’s room at night to play his ps2 while he would be at work. He had GTA, some racing game, and he had this. For some reason I gave Devil May cry a shot at the age of 5, and let’s say it scared the living shit out of me lol

PS2 truly defined three GOLDEN ERA in video game history when every major game publishers were at their finest. None of the DLC, releasing of incomplete games, locking contents behind paywall, game-as-service and all the crap. How I long for the good old days.

Yeah. I remember feeling really happy when I bought a game on the release day at those times. Now I don't like buying games on release because I know they will receive a lot of paid content after and so it's better to wait for a definitive edition.

Games of the era were still fun experiences that respected your time (for the most part) and hadn’t been ruined yet by behavioral scientists

Each game felt so special, and unique, even the bad ones. They were all authentically crafted, and well thought out. Now they all just feel so bland, recycled, and unoriginal. Like one day all gaming companies decided to stop caring about the quality of video games. Oh well.
