Not gonna lie, I didn't expect this at all. Especially this version of Ghost Rider. Motorcycle vs A literal 1969 Dodge Hellcharger. I get Etrigan vs Akira as well it focuses on his demon savagery, but I love how much Robbie vs Akira focuses more Akira's humanity and compassion which he still continues to maintain despite living in the world that is extremely cruel and at times evil, and even when he had changed into a demon --- it never changed who he was and Robbie's story as Ghost Rider hits on that note rather well

This track art feels right out of a 90s' metal album and I'm all for it. And wanna know what else feels like it's straight out of the 90s' ? That song itself. When I read the description I was expecting a "Night Drive" style music but not nearly to that extent and honestly I think it's even cooler that it goes so all out into it. Gives it an almost cyberpunk vibe (not just the game, the actual genre) and I think it's quite unique even if it doesn't directly fit the two as far as I know ? Speaking of which the fact that I don't even know the characters beyond name and very basic info is a bit of a bummer because the song is overflowing with personality and conveyed emotions but due to my ignorance of the characters I can't pinpoint what exactly it's trying to convey beyond basic stuff like general melancholy backed with hopeful feelings which, all things considered, are things that a lot of characters in fiction are fit to have represent them. So I'll hold off from trying to judge if the song fits the characters and instead I'll just say how cool I think the song is. And this of course starts with the most obvious thing about it: how catchy it is. I mean, it goes with the genre for the song to be catchy and very moving but this one goes and beyond with melodies that are simple but varied enough to not feel redundant. Something which, combined with the general variation in intensity and scale throughout the song, makes for a very entertaining track that really doesn't get old at all. The other thing that I appreciate, one which straddles the line on character-fittingness but given it's relatively simple I still want to mention it: the *general* things conveyed in the song. As said before it does a great job at feeling like a "not-quite-hero" track by not sounding overtly heroic but the way it mixes general melancholy that borders on outright sadness with hopeful and energetic crescendos and melodies gives the song a feeling of determination and makes the track feel more character-driven (pun intended) by making it seem as if it's them "pushing" the song forward after each break to restart it instead of it just progressing regardless. And this is felt even more so during the ending starting at 3:29: it's preceded by a long and slow break that could easily feel like the end of the song but then picks up at 3:20, quickly rising before hitting 3:29 where it finally breaks down into the ending which takes the traits of the rest of the song but further amplifies them. But what's really interesting about the ending beyond it sounding amazing is how it absolutely butchers rhythm for its main melody. To explain what I mean, first some explanation; it may sound insane but I've got a habit of whistling when I listen to a song for the first time (and all times thereafter but the first time is arguably the most important) firstly just because I like doing it but also because it gives me a rough idea of the main melodies of a song and helps me remember them better. Usually this is quite easy when the song has distinguishable melodies because, as expected, melodies are often made to be memorable and catchy which is why oftentimes you'll find the simpler melodies to be the most iconic (IE: Imperial March, Mario's main theme, Ultimate Battle, etc...). But here Brandon did something that's absolutely wonderful and infuriating at the same time in a good way because the timescale stays mostly the same for the ending (I'm pretty sure it keeps the same BPM for its entire duration with only a single shift at 3:48, more on that in just a bit) but the melody actually has subtle shifts in it that in its timeframe that makes it borderline impossible to predict what notes will come after which because it keeps changing. And to further confuse my poor little brain, there's the timescale shift at 3:48 which goes against the usual "the ending is faster and more intense" trope because the BPM on the percussions actually slows down to half the speed it is before; on paper it's the same BPM because there's a second go of percussions but in practice it feels like it was halved because the second go is much quieter compared to how it is before 3:48. Of course it could be just imagining things and being insane but assuming it's actually true and I'm not a deviant, those two factors combined make the ending feel extremely confusing but also very familiar: it doesn't *sound* chaotic or disorganized at all but when you start paying attention it feels like a complete mess (of course this isn't derogatory because it's 100% on purpose and the fact that it sounds good while being like that is an achievement on Brandon's end), like the characters trying to put up a façade of being fine at the end of the fight when they're actually on the brink of collapse and defeat. There's been a lot of songs where this "song makes it feel as if the characters are about to fall" feeling is heard but this track puts a really unique twist on it with the way it's done. Unlike other songs where you can definitely hear the characters' struggle and how close they are to defeat, here it's "hidden" but still audible and I think it's great, makes me imagine the end of the battle where both characters climb out of the wrecks of their respective vehicles covered in injuries they can't heal to end the battle with pure hand to hand combat, each blow further damaging their broken demonic frame but their spirit still fighting on despite the pain they're enduring in the hopes of outlasting their opponent, the façade finally collapsing instantly at 4:06 when one of them finally collapses and the other falls to the ground too, battered and on the brink of death too. Of course given both Devilman and Ghost Rider are... What they are this wouldn't make much sense due to how they fight and the scales they can reach but come on, it'd be cool as hell (pun also intended). Overall this track is definitely one I shouldn't have put off for almost two days before listening to it because it's more than every second it lasts. Not only does it sound unique and varied but it conveys enough personality and depth that even someone ignorant of the characters like me can come up with a small interpretation of how at least a part of the battle could go on. I'm sure that people actually knowledgeable with the characters will absolutely love it even more than I already do without a doubt. And given how much I like it already this is saying something. Amazing job as always with this.
