Devil's Creek Gold Mine front seat on-ride HD POV Adventure Island

This family ride looks like it's been at the park since the year dot. However, it opened in 2008 and was developed & designed by Adventure Island to deliberately look old. It's a mine train style ride that travels through different scenes. Riders sit in spinning tubs adding that extra bit of fun for those like that sort of thing.
Adventure Island is in Southend on Sea, Essex, UK.

This is a lot older than 2008 guys, I believe 1980's . It used to be an original gold mine train themed ride with floor mounted motors that would spin the cars on the first straight. In 2008 it was re themed with the old bits from their dark ride Beelzee bobs trail (now over the hill)

This was one of the few rides at Adventure Island I ever wanted to go on when I was like 7. This, the titled house and Over The Hill when it was still a normal Ghost Train.

Any Adventure Island enthusiasts would know this rides theming was taken from Beelzee Bob's Trail which got re-themed into Over The Hill. It even has a western style theme inspired from the Beelzee Bob's theme song. Cool ride, shame they got rid of it

Does anybody have that music stored @1:03 on the ride? It is a remix of the Beelzee Bob's theme music which closed the year prior to this revamp. I thought they only re-used Beelzee Bob's models, and did not realise they created a remix of the music as well until I saw this video ☯

This has been there for at least 50 years, I can remember it from when I was in my teens and I'm 67 now !! The listing published 30th August 2015 is a load of bullshit, the park used to be called "Peter Pans Playground" it consisted of the ride they now call "Devils Creek Gold Mine" it was originally called "The Jig-Saw Train" allso in the park was a small roller coaster called "The Wendy Glide", a Ferris Wheel, the Crooked House, The Whip and a race track that had Petrol driven Gocarts, it was only small, only one side of the pier , the other side of the pier was a boating lake and a walk through mock up ship called "The Golden Hind", I used to live in Southend way back when the Kursaal was in full swing as well, I now live in Portsmouth, I hav'nt been to Southend for years, but I can still remember it clearly.

+MrB4rry The park staff who escorted us around the park told us that DCGM opened in 2008. It may be true that a similar ride existed long before this one opened in 2008. But if you want to be a bitter person by labelling this listing as "bullshit" in a comment section on a website, that's your prerogative :) IfC
