the thing i love about Devildriver is that they havent changed their sound one bit, they have stayed true to their own sound, and its heavy as balls, soo many metal bands nowadays try to follow the "scene" and do whats "cool/mainstream" to appease to the large musically ignorant majority. i think you're referring to triggers, which act like pickups, they're hooked up to a computer with recorded drum sounds, which are then played through an amplifier and speakers, this is essentially the same as an electronic drum set like from def leppard. the drummer still has to hit the drum, so the same amount of skill is required, this only promises a more reliable and consistent sound. even though it's used mostly in the studio, i suppose you can use them in live settings. the more you know

Trivium released one masterpiece: Shogun. The other albums are either boring, good or even great, but Shogun is the only truly inspired moment of their careers. They confuse being melodic with being fluffy.

These guys sure have progressed instrumentally. But I do miss the slightly used clean vocals of Dez. Maybe if he could maybe do a clean-ish sounding intro or outro, kind of like he did with "I Could Care Less". Not to mention the work that he did with Coal Chamber. Not saying that this is Coal CHamber, I just would like to hear him do it again on his part, that's all. Great track, I know that I loved the videogame called Dead To Rights. :P

Wasnt so big on Dez's lyrics this album. Pray for villains, Last kind words, And the Self titled album were more focused on life. This is the best from this album, everything else just kind of had an i hate everything vibe. Curious to see what the next album sounds like. Ressurection BLVD and What does it take are still the best they have done yet. Im scared that a ( dare i say it ) metallica has taken place.
