@@david97GP : Fear Factory was on a whole other level though. Pantera got huge by combing metal and hardcore just at a time when very few bands were doing it. Fear Factory was like the next step in Industrial music, by putting a very clean Metal edge on the genre; thus Industrial Metal. Still sounds contemporary and futuristic for the present. FF's lyrics are even more relevant now as well to be honest.

*How the fuck can a Metal band make you not give a shit that there are no solo's?.. Fear Factory were one of a kind*
@gredangeo8 жыл бұрын
A quite a umber of metal bands didn't have solo's in 90's It was a thing that came from Grunge music, which was an anti 80's metal movement. Not by design, people didn't like wankers playing useless arpeggios all the time. Solos have come back since though, because the new set of fans wanted to do more but still retain much of that sound that was formed in the 90's. I tend to like songs with not much of a solo in them. A songwriter seems to be more creative. Instead of having a basic chord progression that builds to a solo, the whole song is a pile of riffs that keep it interesting.
@johnphelps26438 жыл бұрын
I'd rather have a strong rhythm something with strong lyrics that has meaning long drawn out solo's just don't move me but don't get me wrong I like the solo's also in bands like slayer and many more period I love music just like many of y'all opinions are free just be glad for the metal

Ikr? I mean I reaaaally love guitar solos (or any kind of solos for that matter), but something I like about bands like Disturbed, Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage and even some Slipknot, is that they do good metal songs without the need of solos, and from time to time, they surprise you with a solo that may not be the most flashy, but that fits the song perfectly...on the other side of it there are bands that really give solos the prominence that they had back in the 80s, but they merge it with their own style like Trivium, Avenged Sevenfold, etc...and I really love them for doing that too.

Fear factory seams to be more relevant the older it gets, sad the singer left but the music remains, obsolete, demanufacture etc. Will remain relevant for ever. Love it so much, thanks for the music, saw you in Seattle for digimortal ✌🤙🤛😎

I slept on Fear Factory for way too many years. I'm just now fully appreciating Bells "soft" vocals over the heavy music. Gives it this righteous edge to the metal.

I never stopped listening to this. But lately I been listening to Theatre of tragedy a lot. That song Venus is really good. Whole album is pretty good. My wife is one of these girls that think the Grateful Dead is something special lol and then I exposed her to some of this and she’s obsessed now. She’s had this epiphany 😂 like me oh wow. I thought Alice In Chains was hard stuff lol the other day we were on a road trip, and she selected Slayers “bloodline” lol Yup…I’m changing the world
