Dez is legitimately one of the nicest, raddest dudes out there. Back in like the 2006-08 area Devildriver played this little joint called Jaxx (since changed to some lame-ass place) in VA, and they did the sickest set ever, that small venue was EXPLODING and the pit was literally within reaching distance of the stage and him and the whole band was so interactive with the crowd, such a dope show. Kicked the shit out of big venues to be close enough to not even need the speakers to hear the vocals.

Their new album "Dealing with Demons 1" just hits me the right way. For some reason, I like all their albums, but 'Pray for Villains" and "Beast" wasn't there for me, but this one just sounded right compared to all the rest. Satisfying year for my favorite bands: DevilDriver, Lamb of God, Orbit Culture, Body Count, Killer Be Killed, Hatebreed, new Gojira track (just release a new one, please). Never been a big fan of Deftones, but that one came out this year and they're pretty big. All being some of my favorite bands coming out in one year.

dez is a cool guy. saw them in a small club in Winston Salem nc with devildriver and coal chamber and he makes contact with everyone in the venue he sings to the entire crowd I've never seen anything like it.

What Eddy said. A ton of people were comparing Keep Away From Me to Gojira's sound when it came out. Those kinds of big pinch harmonics, specifically, you hear a ton in Gojira songs. Ocean Planet, for example. Stuff like that, the tapping riffs, the triplet chugging and the pick scrapes are kinda synonymous with Gojira, but they themselves picked it up from bands like Morbid Angel (who they're huge fans of).
