Fretless is the true form of bass, frets have their purpose but the expression and vibrato is more linear and less dimensional than the aforementioned and you will not have knowledge of proper positioning but it is all finding perfection in the most impossible as a true tormented artist, and if your partial of going more than 4 or six strings then your scared of music and art in general i'm afraid
