@@sammyloehnis3373 ??? so they rewrite their music for every show? You don't 'tune' a guitar to a venue. You tune it to a tuning, and in his case it's C or B depending on the song. Maybe they approximate the best speaker placement and volume for a venue, but that's the best any band can do. It's all a giant variable depending on the size and layout of the venue.

I worked at a Vancouver Studio Hipposonic for many years and had the pleasure of working with and learning from Devin on 3 or 4 projects (15 years ago). The best kind of human being. You want to be in a room with this guy. Plus, he has some the best rock tales of all time. Pee your pants funny. So stoked he is on TPS.

Yeah from what I've seen he just 'does his thing' like any of us would do. The difference is how he views himself compared to the huge rock and metal egos we've seen in the past. As a person, he is as refreshing as his music, and also carries the tongue in cheek sense of humour displayed in his music. He's awesome all the way around.

Yeah he's the real deal, huge fan. Like Ocean Machine, Ziltoid is a classic album that shows his more metal side, most of his albums are really great. Deconstruction's maybe his most underrated, but it's brilliant. One song that still makes me tear up is Deep Peace, during the guitar solo, definitely reccomend that one

Dev has such an eclectic library, I found it really intimidating figuring out where to start. I definitely recommend a video called "Devin Townsend ultimate reviewtrospecive" or something like that to get a feel of where and how to dive in. For what it's worth, I started with "Ki" which I still really love.

It's as if he s channeling from another realm and I say that literally!!!! To watch him ten years ago and now... the progression with his music is staggering. Inspirational. Wow... I’m such a massive Devy fan and now his incredible talent makes so much more sense... he has synesthesia! Holy crap... of course he does... he can visualize his music and emotion in a way that others don’t, that’s why he can create such masterpieces and evoke so much emotion with out the more formal music theory training. He’s combined natural gifts with incredible hard work and dedication and has just mastered his craft, what a treasure.
