the guy who reviewed empath said you are the only progressive metal musician who get things going forward and improve it , believe it or not it's 120% true. all i hear in last decades from all the other bands is same thing except your music , be proud man.

thanks for sharing guys , don't get me wrong there are lots great talented musician and bands out there , they might need time to shine , all i'm saying is because of existence of so many bands new or old the genres over saturated with so many stuff which sound the same to my ears and it will takes time to pass the filter to recognize more , the thing about devin and other most popular bands they didn't come up on top over night , it's take 20 25 30 years to reach this higher level , just let's take a moment and unfold everything devin's done from beginning and choose couple of his album randomly and put it on the blank slate , i picked terria , ghost , alien (SYL) , transcendence , casualties of cool , deconstruction , i didn't even think about which goes first or last the point is if you are going through the these album for the first time and moving to the next it's like hearing or seeing fourth dimension in form of music , the diversity is something i cannot find somewhere else and i mean it in the right way... but hey , at the end of the day we are grateful people creating music to make life better , popular or unpopular bands , doesn't matter.

Erratic? Not once have I thought 'erratic' while listening to Genesis or Evermore. All I hear is a guy that's clear headed, full of hope and knows exactly how he wants to articulate himself. There are moments or shear madness, but the message is always very concise. I went into those songs slightly worried... I had my fucking mind blown. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album.

There is danger in that, risk is for an inevitable disappointment, not because the album is "bad," which none of us expect (hey, it's Devin T, and he has as yet not made a single bad or uninteresting album, I'm even warming up to Devlab) but being overhyped comes with great risk. I've experienced that with films many times: hype, disappointment, and then in 8 cases out of 10, reappraisal and two thumbs-up.

Damn. This album is going to be killer. And for everyone else suffering from depression as well, a friend can be the most powerful help you can have. With my own battles, I came to a very depressing conclusion of the meaning of life. And though to this day i have not changed it, when i made a friend, i have come to understand what it means compared to everything else and gave it proper context. Life is unfair. To be given life - put on this earth without any choice of our own, plagued with the inevitability of death, and cursed with the ability to know as much - is fucking cruel. But... I made a friend. And none of that seems to matter anymore. Thanks friend. You'll never truly know how much you mean to me.

i used to hear a lot of music in my head but for the last 10 years i had the same albums on repeat while modifying 1 or 2 games and suddenly got the internet. i picked up my guitar and realized i only had silence! i think that since it was not like school stuck on a seat and only having your mind to block all of that day (how did i graduate? lol) and make music and mini movie scenarios and merging all of that all day long... at home for 10 years my other creative side worked on games and logic and realized my music side went like a lazy muscle! hope you don't lose yours!

@@Prog4Prog I've only listened through once so far so I can't give super detailed impressions yet, but just...I have been thinking about it and I can't even find the right word to describe it. Monumental. Beautiful. Epic. Wild. Like...I knew to expect something super different because Dev kept saying that in all his interviews, but it's still just so crazy to actually hear it...but at the same time, it all makes perfect sense, coming from Dev. I know I'm kind of rambling lol, but I guess I'd just say, for me, this feels like the kind of music that Dev has always been trying to make, and it makes me so happy to hear his musical personality fully unleashed. Just for perspective, I've been a Devy fan since like 2010-ish, give or take a year, and my favorite albums are Addicted! and Transcendence, and probably Ziltoid the Omniscient as well. I quite enjoy most of his other albums too, but those are my favorites. Also, haven't listened to the bonus tracks at all yet so everything I said is just talking about the first disc.
